This book is very informative. Looking at different medical issues as case studies. It helps you understand that the issues are with each situation. Great job Drs.!

I have not read this book, but as someone in the IR field I get the sense in browsing the reviews that not everyone has either. Perhaps there are people here who are just misinformed but some comments feel more prejudicial. I actually don't see a verified purchase tagged to anything constructive. In particular, the mention of intravascular UV therapy is pretty out there and by no means a standard IR or mainstream medical therapy one would expect in a textbook at this point. It was pretty much abandoned in the 1940/50s with the creation of modern antibiotics and only relatively recently come back as a research interest. That said, I'm sure plenty of shady people are willing to take your cash and pretend they know what they're doing with it today, this is America. They probably carry colloidal silver too. And if you're going to the ATM anyway, can you send me money for a Nigerian prince I know, we'll send it right back when he gets home safely. I digress. But in most hospitals, endobronchial therapies of any kind also typically fall to pulmonologists, not IR. This isn't a hard and fast rule, there is a wide spectrum of IR practice which is part of what makes it so great, but generally speaking specialized centers will work that way. Also, just in general, you will find many high quality books and articles out there produced by medical residents and sometimes even medical students. Residents are doctors and often take on these projects as way to further explore a topic and learn themselves, but there are always more experienced mentors and editors in the writing process to fill in any necessary information gaps.

I somehow was referred to this book when I was researching the latest advancements of life-saving interventional radiology, and was baffled by the lack of any information regarding endobronchial UV treatments and intravascular UV therapy. I was actually surprised to learn the book was less than a year old.

To be fair, I never did check out the associated iPhone app. Though I'm sure it's very fancy, and maybe they have updated the information on there.

Do you have a passion for helping people ? Working in Radiology been a dream for you ? Is learning about imaging or a career in Radiology been what you always wanted ? If so, look for a different book. This is not for you. This book is dull, contains outdated practices, and provides little to no value for you or your passion. This book will make you never want a career in Radiology. Look for other books on the subject, that kept up with the practice and offer better quality information, that you need.

Would never purchase a book written by a resident. The guy hasn't completed his medical education.

Some parts are ok, but many of the practices they list are outdated. Regardless, impressive accomplishment for a resident to have this published, but still needs improvement.
