I don’t know why it took me so long to buy these. You get so many for such a minimal cost and they work just as good as the MR. Clean dry erasers. Definitely buy these if you want to save money and not give up quality.

    Melamine sponges are the ‘generic’ of the Magic Eraser. Even if they wear out more quickly than the branded ones (they slowly crush and disintegrate like stationery erasers do, turning into crumbs), for a massively cheaper price, they still work essentially as a block of wet sandpaper. You can get ANY dirt off of ANYTHING, taking years and years of grime off of floors, faucets, light switches, bathtubs (be careful not to sand right through the sealant on your tub), walls (even ‘matte’ or flat paint finishes survive if you’re careful), plastics, you name it. It’ll take water stains out of your sink, and get stains off of the counter. Just be careful you don’t scrub so much you take the finish off of wood, or tear through paint.

    (But even if you did, to make your house clean, it might be worth it.)

    Bought these as en experiment, to compare to name brand melamine sponges like Magic Erasers. I did find these work fairly well at cleaning surfaces (counters/showers) without scratching the surfaces, but they do fall apart easier than a Magic Eraser. There are a lot of sponges in this pack though, so even using twice as many of these should be more cost efficient than purchasing the name brand melamine sponges.

    I was thrilled when I saw how much cheaper these are than the namebrand ones in the stores. However, you get what you pay for these crumble in a couple of minutes when you try to actually clean anything with them you better off paying more for one that last longer unless you’re using them for just a couple minutes and then tossing it anyway

    First this is not a regular sponge so absorbency and durability don't really count towards rating. This sponge does in fact dissolve as you use it. Depends on the project as to how long the sponge will last. For general pots and pans use, it'll last for several large grimy pots and pans and on the kitchen sink. Scorch marks and brown marks on the ends of Pyrex dishes cone off so easily, much better than Barkeepers or SOS pads. I really liked using them on the house windows followed by a microfiber cloth. I finally was able to get the inside back windshield in my car clean without streaks. I used it on my stainless flatware that is about 45 years old and it looks great now. And where a chefs or paring knife blade meets its handle there was always a little smudgy mark or stain and this product took all of that off. Enamel pots pans and the drip pans on the stove all looks terrific. It's great (grate?) for the chrome racks in the toaster oven which I'd been wracking (get it?) my brains over how to clean. I purchased a very old bread pan at a yard sale knowing that I could use this product to clean it and it looks really good now. It's definitely worth it to get a large amount of them all at once. Buying these is very inexpensive when compared to Magic erase and yet they do the same thing.
