The Triple Threat Match WWE Intercontinental Champion vs WWE United States Champion vs NXT North American Champion was truly the match of the Evening. The NXT Championship Match Pete Dunne vs Adam Cole was the best NXT match of the evening.

The addition of NXT to the traditional Survivor Series matches was certainly interesting but sadly led to nothing down the line for a number of reasons.

The Survivor Series is one of the four marquee events the WWE puts on every year. This made some of the decision making in the matches a little baffling. NXT looked stronger than either RAW or SD in winning both the women’s elimination and women’s champions triple threat. They also had the best match in Adam Cole vs. Pete Dunne for the NXT Title. Keith Lee more than held his own with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

Another odd curiosity was the fact that the event didn’t include pre-show matches or other supplementary material, which was something nice for purchasers. So you’ll have to watch on the Network to see that.

It's not bad, WWE's annual event is always exciting. Raw and the SmackDown Brands take each other on for brand supremacy. But this year, NXT joins in as well. The lead up to this was very enjoyable, but when you see the final product, it's a bit of a let down. Matches are a bit drawn out with them now being Triple Threat Matches instead of the normal 5-On-5 or the 1-On-1 (or 2-On-2 for the Tag Team Champions) Champions matches. Nice change: 2 titles were actually defended this time: The WWE Championship- Brock Lesnar (Champ) vs. Rey Mysterio & The NXT Championship- Adam Cole (Champ) vs. Pete Dunne. That was the match of the whole card, hands down! All WWE fans should enjoy, you just may want to break this up into 2 separate viewings to break the minaughteny up.

This DVD contains the full Survivor Series 2019 event on a single disc. There are no bonus features as the event runs for over three hours. It's an event that put NXT, RAW and Smackdown against each other. There were three pre-show matches that didn't make the DVD so the main show starts with each show having one point.

Rhia Ripley, Toni Storm, Io Shirai,Bianca Belair and Candice LeRae(NXT) vs. Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Kairi Sane, Natayla and Sarah Logan(RAW) vs. Sasha Banks, Carmella, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans and Nikki Cross(Smackdown) - This was a three-way Elimination match and the opening match of the main card. I was expecting this many people around the outside to really block the view and get in the way of the action but that really wasn't a problem. Another great thing that you see in this match is they've got rid of those awful t-shirts that they made everyone wear to show off their brand the last few Survivor Series', they had colours on their gear but that looks way less stupid. It was a fantastic match that felt like a big deal. The action was really good right from the start. There was a moment where it looked like two women were injured that stopped things for a minute but it still worked with the match and soon picked up again. There were some good near-falls and reversals throughout and none of the eliminations felt rushed. There were plenty of twists and turns throughout the action and it built to a strong finish. A great start to the show.

Roderick Strong(NXT) vs. AJ Styles(RAW) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura(Smackdown) - This Triple Threat match featured the secondary champions from each brand. Strong was NXT North American Champion, Styles was United States Champion and Nakamura held the Intercontinental Championship. It was another great match with a fast pace and exciting action. There were plenty of counters and near-falls and for the most part you had all three men in the ring at once. It lasted for a good amount of time and built well to a strong and decisive finish. Such a good match.

Adam Cole vs. Pete Dunne - For the first time ever the NXT Championship was being defended on pay-per-view, with Adam Cole being the champion. Both men were selling their injuries from NXT Takeover the night before. Dunne had a bad knee and Cole's back/ribs were injured along with his previously broken wrist. It was another really good match with a fast pace. There were some really good near-falls and some strong psychology as Dunne targets Cole's back throughout. There was an incredible counter by Cole, his aim with his superkick is phenomenal. The action lasted the right amount of time and built to a really good finish. Another fantastic match.

"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt vs. Daniel Bryan - This was for the Universal Championship. Unfortunately they were still using Fiend's red lighting here which did make it harder to see, although I do think it was improved after Crown Jewel but it might just be that they mostly kept it in the ring. It was a good match that I thought was everything it needed to be. Fiend was dominant in the action and looked unbeatable but Bryan never looked like he wasn't in the fight. Bryan made his comebacks and kept things exciting. It was much better than either match with Seth. It was one of Bray's best matches of his career, although not as good as their Rumble 2014 match together. There were some good near-falls and the kick-outs didn't look stupid like they did against Seth. A very good match.

Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee, Damien Priest, WALTER and Matt Riddle(NXT) vs. Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton and Ricochet(RAW) vs. Roman Reigns, Baron Corbin, Mustafa Ali, Chad Gable and Braun Strowman(Smackdown) - This was the men's Elimination match and was another great one. Once again it didn't feel too crowded around the outside. This was another incredible match. It has one problem as far as I'm concerned, and that was the treatment of WALTER, much like Samoa Joe a year or two earlier he didn't get to do what he really deserved which was a shame. Other than that it was and amazing match with great, exciting action. With one exception none of the eliminations felt too rushed. There were some great near-falls and a good, strong finish.

Brock Lesnar vs. Rey Mysterio - This was a WWE Championship match and was No Holds Barred. It was another match, like Bray/Daniel, that was exactly what it needed to be. Lesnar was dominant but Mysterio used a pipe and interference by his son to stay in the match. It was kept short, as a match between these two should have been, and was constantly entertaining. There was a great near-fall towards the end and the interference made it genuinely exciting. The finish was good and it was a really enjoyable match.

Shayna Baszler(NXT) vs. Becky Lynch(RAW) vs. Bayley(Smackdown) - This was the main event of the night and saw each brand's Women's Champion in action. It was a good match but at the same time, with the quality of the rest of the card, a bit disappointing. It didn't really live up to the hype but it was still a good, entertaining match. The action was entertaining and everyone got a chance to look good. The pace slowed down on a couple of occasions but it never got boring and it built to a good, satisfying finish. It couldn't live up to what it could have been but that doesn't stop it from being a good, entertaining match.

This was a great night of action from top to bottom. It had plenty of amazing matches. The two Elimination matches were a load of fun, the men's Triple Threat was great and Dunne vs. Cole was brilliant. Fiend/Bryan and Mysterio/Lesnar both delivered in their own way, they were different to normal title matches but were still everything they should have been. The main event was slightly disappointing but even that was a good, entertaining and enjoyable match so this is definitely a show I can recommend.
