Little Women/Marie Antoinette - Double Feature (Blu-ray)
Louisa May Alcott's classic coming-of-age story follows the childhood adventures of the four free-spirited March sisters: beautiful Meg (Trini Alvarado), fragile Beth (Claire Danes), romantic Amy (Kirsten Dunst) and impetuous Jo (Winona Ryder), who's determined to defy social conventions by seeking her fame and fortune as a writer. As Jo chronicles the family's struggle during the war, their turbulent romances and their lasting friendship, her story unwraps a gift of humor and heartfelt emotions that no one-young or old, male or female-can resist.
Sofia Coppola directs an electrifying yet intimate re-telling of the turbulent life of history's favorite villainess, Marie Antoinette. Kirsten Dunst portrays the ill-fated child princess who married France's young and indifferent King Louis XVI (Jason Schwartzman). Feeling isolated in a royal court rife with scandal and intrigue, Marie Antoinette defied both royalty and commoner by living like a rock star, which served only to seal her fate.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2023Two great movies for the price of one movie. I loved Little Woman it’s just a great family movie.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2020The video is just over 24 Mb/s the audio is 5.1 Dolby (ac3) at 384 kb/s.
This means high quality video with acceptable audio, given the kind of movies these are. The audio is not uncompressed "HD" audio, but it is acceptable surround sound.
Some people have called this "DVD" quality sound, but I can not agree with that. While some DVD movies do have 320 kb/s 5.1 Dolby audio, most have 192 kb/s 5.1 Dolby Audio.
384 kb/s ac3 audio will make a world of difference from 192 kb/s ac3 audio when listening to it at all volume levels.
At very low volume levels the 192 kb/s is OK and terrible at high volume levels (even risking damage to your speakers).
If you are considering buying this version or the stand alone blu-ray movies with DTS-HD MA audio, ask yourself one question. "Is uncompressed audio really worth the extra $40?" With drama movies like this, I would say the answer is no. If when you are reading this the difference between this combo and the standalone movies is about $10, go for the discs with DTS-HD MA; but at $25 a disc and $50 for both the answer is no.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2020I love both of these movies and this was such a great buy that I couldn't pass it up. I watched both movies the day I received it.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2020Maybe it's a personal taste, but this is the best version of LIttle Women. The second movie was just a bonus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stellar movie
Marie Antoinette is an uncredited modern masterpiece.
Not an historical perfect account, but a fun movie filled - on purpose - with various anachronisms!

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended
As another reviewer has given this 1 star due to compressed audio I thought I'd chime in and cover the pros.
It's on one disc, but it's 50 GB and both movies are under 25 GB so there is no quality lost due to the single disc. The Little Women transfer looks fantastic, I haven't seen the stand-alone BD-R release of Little Women but it probably looks the same. This beats the other Little Women release because 1. It's a pressed disc, not burned, so it's likely to last a lot longer if you value your collection lasting many years. 2. It's a lot cheaper, and 3. It also includes Marie Antoinette of course, which I view as a bonus. So for me the pros outweigh the con of compressed audio, but it's up to you if you want to wait for a different label to release Little Women in the future.
Since there's no guarantee of that, and this is a good value, I'd recommend picking this up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful high bitrate transfers.
Strange combination of films have Kirsten Dunst as the common factor. Both films are excellent.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pixelated after one full playthrough of each film.
No features for either film. No chapter selection. I played each movie once before the top menu stopped working and the film was very pixelated at times.
