Eclipse is the primary musical vehicle of the prolific Swedish songwriter and producer Erik Martensson, who also comprises half of NORDIC UNION, an ongoing project with PRETTY MAIDS vocalist Ronnie Atkins. In addition, Martensson is one of three core members of the melodic rock/AOR supergroup W.E.T., which also features Jeff Scott Soto (SONS OF APOLLO, TALISMAN) and Robert Sall (WORK OF ART).

    This band just keeps on getting better with each new album. I feel that this one is the most accessible. The music has more melody than in the previous releases. The songwriting is very strong. This is a band that have hit their stride, so sit back and enjoy the ride.

    Ein Melodic-Rock-Monster vordererster Güte liefern Eclipse hier ab. Im Ernst, hätte ich hier eine "Blindverkostung" gemacht, ich hätte gefragt, wer denn die faltigen (und immer noch sehr kompetenten) Herrn von Pretty Maids in einen Jungbrunnen geschmissen hat. Das hier sind die 80er des Hardrock-Melodic Metal, wie sie eben damals richtig geil waren (und bis heute sind). Keine Angst auch mal eine "poppigere" Melodie anzustimmen, aber nie nie peinlich sondern einfach richtig gut.
    Anspieltipps gebe ich zwei, weil die sowas von Ohrwürmern sind: ".38 or .44" und "Viva la Victoria". Gerade letzteres ist eine Überhymne, die ich derzeit gar nicht mehr aus dem Ohr bekomme. Das Ding möchte ich Live mitsingen! Die anderen Songs sind aber auch beileibe nicht ohne.
    Sound/Produktion ist auch eine der angenehmeren dieser Tage und der Band hört man die Freude beim Einspielen an. So soll es sein (und ist es viel zu selten!).
    Also, wer W.E.T. oder Dynazty oder frühe Europe und eben besagte early Pretty Maids im Schrank hat, der macht hier so schlicht gar nichts falsch. Großes Melodic-Rock Kino ...

    Viva La Victoria: 5 Sterne. Repeat!
