But overcoming tremendous odds and hardships would become her life-long trademark. She would go on to form the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, become the friend of three popes a foster-mother to thousands of children, and establish 67 institutions and Hospitals around the world serving immigrants, orphans and those in need.

    I was hoping that this DVD would provide a heartwarming story of Mother Cabrini and her acts of kindness toward immigrants but the poor quality of the acting and the disjointed story line simply destroyed what could have been a good movie. Several of the scenes just pushed basic Catholic ideology. There are other DVDs out there that probably provide a better picture of who Mother Cabrini was and focus more on her benevolent work with immigrants and those in need. I watched this DVD once and then discarded it (a waste of $20).

    I watched this on EWTN today. The movie and story of Mother Cabrini's life kept me wanting more, a longer movie! It is done in English with Italian accents, likely English speaking Italian actors which is always better than English dubbing. I highly recommend the movie and all of EWTN movies of Saints. So thoughtfully made and never preachy; just the life of these humble and strong in faith human beings. Think of Mother Theresa!
