- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2019I love this set so much. The front cover of the box set has simply Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. The main transformers for any of the movies. It has no humans simply transformers on the front plain and simple and there is a lack of humans on the back save for two. Though I'm bummed they didn't pick Sam and Charlie for the back since both of them are close to Bumbleebee and are the best human characters in the franchise if you want my honest opinion. But regardless it's a nice box.
I'm a huge transformers fan in general so this set really intrigued me. I was hesitant at first to buy this since I didn't purchase the past movie pack. But the thought of having blu-ray/digital copies of the three original movies, and Bumbleebee (which I had heard nothing but praise about and desperately wanted to watch) got me hooked. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
I've always wanted blu-ray copies of the movies but at first I didn't own a blu-ray player so there wasn't really a point. Now I do so I can stick this set with my past DVDs. I also have the last two movies now which was a nice bonus. The set is affordable and well done so I'm satisfied.
Now going away from personal experience I will relate what comes in the set and a small review on my feelings on each movie.
Since it was really hard to find a thorough review on this stellar set I hope mine will help others with their decision.

BUMBLEBEE
Regarding the set. It's the standard Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital combo pack you'd get if you bought the movie alone. I like the fact you get both the DVD and Blu-Ray in this set cause it gives you a chance to watch it on different platforms which is nifty.
You also get a comic book regarding a tale of Bumblebee against a deception and having some interaction with one particular character from the first trilogy of the franchise. It's pretty cool.
The DVD contains the feature film and the Blu-Ray comes with the Feature Film and Special Features.
The Blu-Ray has some great extras that go into a thoughtful exploration of the making of the movie and how their decisions came to be. It's not too long and not to short giving you a chance to see what went into the film and what could have bee.

This movie is latest movie in the franchise and definitely one of my favorite. It not only evokes a sense of nostalgia from the Generation 1 franchise but has a lot of heart and character. It's a prequel and a standalone story that tells of the humble beginnings of our favorite small transformer on Earth. It takes itself seriously with both it's autobot and human storyline. Both Charlie and Bumblebee have one of the sweetest friendships I've seen between a bot and a human. Not to mention it's a lot of fun to watch this movie. It's more down to Earth and less larger then life. There is a threat but it's not a big epic showdown battle probably since Transformers is where the first big battle occurs. Which leaves a lot of room for character exploration and depth. Definitely one of my favorite in the franchise my second favorite but it ties very close with the first movie. Trust me if you didn't like the recent movies this will renew your faith in the Transformers Movie franchise as a whole it's really amazing.

TRANSFORMERS 5 - Movie Collection
This is a 5 Disc set with only Blu-Ray copies for all 5 movies. The set only contains the feature film and limited special features on Transformers and Revenge of the Fallen first discs. That will make or break the set for you. Be warned if you're looking for set chockfull of special features for each movie you might want to consider another set. For me this was fine. I have the first and second on Special Edition on DVD so I have the special features. I don't have this luxury with Dark of the Moon but I think the fact I got all the movies in digital format as well as blu-ray made this set worth it. I may purchase Dark of the Moon again for the special features but this will be fine for now.
There is one potential bright side. Your digital service may provide some of these special features as a bonus in your digital copies of the movie. On VUDU I have access to special features for the movies through my digital copies so I still have some special features they are simply digital. iTunes usually has this feature to so I'm fairly sure that there will be special features on there if that is the digital service you use to redeem them. I am not sure on the rest.
Not to worry I plan to go over what exactly each disc contains on the Blu-Ray.

The movie that opened my eyes to Transformers in general. I love this movie to pieces. I know it has some problems here and there but it was one of the best in the franchise. The plot flowed so well. The action was epic and the heart was great. I enjoyed Shia's character Sam Whitwicky a lot. The concept of a boy and his car was fun to explore. Not to mention Bumblebee made this movie for me in general. Their relationship stole the show numerous times, and I'll never get over all the fun characters this movie had like Lennox, Epps, Maggie, Glen, not to mention Simmons and the list goes on. These were the human characters that carried the first movie and they did it well. The soundtrack of this movie by Steve Jablonsky is epic it has so many thrills and feelings throughout the entire movie. Other than Bumblebee there isn't another live action Transformers movie that quite captured such a great balance between transformers and humanity. The thrills and chills I get each time watching this movie will never change. It's the reason I became a loyal Transformer fan and it was the movie that started it all for so many of us.

I feel like this sequel movie is both great and flawed at the same time. It plays on a concept that ran through many of our minds. If Sam touched the All Spark he should experience side effects. The movie was really good with both it's Autobots and Decepticons. It gave them both a chance to be explored and focused on. The human portion of this movie at times was really rough to watch it had so many crude jokes that were just unnecessary. I did quite like a few moments in the movie like Sam and Mikeala's relationship which sweet and well spun through it's growth in this movie. Sam in particular had a good amount of character growth. There were many highlights like Jetfire, Megatron's return and other things. The movie is sort of a mix bag between good and bad. It feels like a bunch for pieces were placed together but the plot did not flow properly half the time. If it had less of the crude humor it would have been much better and if the plot flowed a bit more. Still this movie was created right before a Writer's Strike so you have to give the scriptwriters some credit for cobbling together a story that fast. I have mix feelings on it but I still enjoy it in the end regardless.

Transformers Dark of the Moon

I really feel like this one had potential to be great as the first. If not for the change of female companions for Sam. Don't get me wrong Carly was a nice character but after two movies of Mikeala it just wasn't the same. The thing is the audience has connected and grown with Sam and Mikeala's relationship breaking them up without much explanation was kind of harsh. The aspect of focusing on him and Carly just didn't have the same ring and doesn't really move the story emotionally. Still I really enjoy this movie a lot. Regardless Sam goes through some development as a person and realizing where he fits in life so there's focus on where he will go now which was good. I think the biggest highlight for me in this film was the alien conspiracy connected to Apollo 11 and how they carefully connected the old film with the new to create this situation in history. The battle in Chicago was incredible and the visuals are so thrilling and quite breathtaking all the same. This movie seemed to learn from it's mistakes in Revenge of the Fallen. It was much more serious, battle driven and less poor comedy. Sam got a finale that felt solid and gave him a chance to really shine as well. I watched this movie in theaters and found myself clapping at the ending I was like this felt like the first movie it was just so satisfying.

Transformers Age of Extinction

I have mixed feelings about this movie. It had potential to be really good honestly. I even liked Optimus Prime's human friend Cade. I thought they had a solid friendship. However I really disliked how much this movie lacked it's supposed focus on the Transformers themselves. It took too long focusing on the human characters and took a long time to bring in the transformers. I have no problem with human characters in Transformers in fact I enjoy them but when you take so long focusing on them and lack transformers in general it honestly does feel like a true Transformers movie. Not to mention the whole fact the government is hunting down the transformers was so confusing it was hard to really enjoy what was going on. I think if they brought the robots in more and focused less on the humans I would have enjoyed it more. It's definitely my sixth on my list for the franchise. I don't hate the movie it's watchable and somewhat good but it's definitely my least favorite.

Transformers The Last Knight

This movie was pretty good. As odd as it might be to some it felt better than Age of Extinction. Hear me out. That movie was okay but it took so long to bring the transformers into focus as I said before. Here the Transformers are on the forefront and deeply involved in things. The storyline also went back to the roots of the the past three movies and carried conspiracy of the Transformers once again being involved in human history. Cade was good in here he seemed to have grown a bit and now he's a fugitive which is an interesting concept. I liked Izabella in here but I thought she could have been handled a lot better. Viviane was a nice character and a good foil for Cade the chemistry was definitely there and she was important to the plot line. The thing I really enjoyed about this film was Lennox, and Morshower were finally back and Simmons too! Both veterans of the franchise with important ties to the transformers in general. They were probably one of the main reasons I like this film. The part I didn't like was how jumbled the plot line was nothing fit together well. I think if the plot and development flowed better and had less focus on humans and more on transformers this could have been a better movie.

Concluding thoughts on the 5 Disc Blu-Ray set. I still think it was good and if you like any of the transformer movies then this set is a good one to have.
Regardless of lacking special features I still find this a solid group of films. You get the high definition Blu-Ray copies of each movie so you can watch them any time and digital copies for all five movies which is a good deal. Unless your looking for all the special features to be included.

Digital Copy
(Information from a VUDU redemption may vary with other digital services)
Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon - UHD
Age of Extinction, The Last Knight, Bumblebee - HDX
The slip for all the five Transformer Movie digital codes was located the middle of my case outside the blu-ray copy. And for anyone thinking they only get one digital code you get a code for each movie they are just on both sides of the paper. I speak from personal experience because I thought I only had the last two movies before I looked on the other side of the slip.
Bumblebee's digital code is inside the case for the movie.
Now as for how to redeem the movies. I redeemed mine through VUDU since I have a ROKU and it's the easiest way to access them. Sadly right now Paramount is not connected to MoviesAnywhere so I can't get them on other platforms but VUDU is an easy access application so having them all redeemed on my VUDU was the way to go.
Note to anyone who is looking to redeem these movies I recommend choosing whichever digital service you have the easiest access too. You can't share it between services like through MoviesAnywhere so it's best to pick the one that works best to access all your digital movies.

Overall I really love this set. I got all six movies for a bargain and now have high definition copies of the first five and a standard set for Bumblebee. It may not contain all the special features for the other movies but I'm simply looking for great copies to watch. Besides you also get digital copies that are pretty nifty. I think this a great set to own if you don't already have the movies on blu-ray, digital or never had copies of the franchise. They are solid films and definitely entertaining to watch if you enjoy watching robots transform into cars.
Please forgive any ramblings I made on the movies themselves sometimes I simply get passionate. For me no Transformer movie is unwatchable just some are much better than others. But that is still a matter of opinion.
Regardless I hope my review has offered you solid insight into the set and helped with your decision on whether to get it or not.

The quality obviously is not 4K so it’s not great for that reason, but it is great for the nostalgia because just like the blurry difference between vhs & dvd, it really brings you back to the time when most of these first came out on digital release to the public.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2024I had been wanting to get this 6 movie collection so I went with the used due to the price and availability of the new. It said used good condition but I would say used fair condition because the slipcover was worn pretty good.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2024This is a review of the seller not the movie. Disc and case arrived in good condition. Played well no issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Transformers Collection
Absolutely a beautiful collection speaking from the point of view of a Transformers fan. Storylines are good and the cast and crew honoured these characters well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Una película!!!
