Unscrew both end of the screw

The hollow screw, on the opposite side of the pin, needs to be screwed in to support the chain while you twist the handle and apply pressure to push the pin out

Pay Attention To

2,Turn the screw on both sides until the chain pin is cut off

So with the chain splitter I got personally, I found that the chain slots meant to hold the chain in place as you remove the pin, or insert it back in, bend very easily, and are difficult to move back. I only needed this for maybe one or two uses at the time of purchase so it didn't relatively matter to me, however for someone who is gonna need this regularly, I highly recommend spending a bit more for something of higher quality with a better quality steel. It's worth it for maybe 6 uses, but not meant for long term.
