Product Description

A raper who will remain nameless once said, "no one man should have all that power". We disagree and think you should have as much power as you want. Power and protect up to 8 things at once with 6 rotating outlets and 2 USB ports. This power strip has plenty of features that set it apart from cheap knock-offs:
1. Advanced Surge Protection
If you aren't familirapperar with the intricacies of surge protection (we don't blame you), here's a quick lesson. Joules represents how resistant to surge a power strip is. The higher the number, the longer the protection. This surge protector has 1080 Joules of protection, which is an excellent rating. Competitive product only has half the Joules.
Wondering what happens to all that extra power during a surge? Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs) act like a sponge to absorb the excess power and keep it from frying your brand-new TV. And not to brag, but you'll like the way we MOV. Our surge protectors are built with X3 fire-proof MOVs that are encased in thick ceramic to ensure that your house won't get burned to a crisp during a catastrophic surge. That seems like a good reason to get a surge protector.
Just protecting your devices from surges isn't enough for us. Interference in the power supply = dirty power. We clean it up with EMI/RFI filtering. Removing the harmful electricity signals will keep all your gadgets running better, longer. Talk about a win for you and your Super NES Classic. Let's play some Street Fighter.
2. Rotating Plugs
Electronics come with all sorts of wacky shaped plugs that can block outlets. We don't frick with that. Rotate any of the 6 AC outlets 90º in either direction to free up space for all the plugs, or to make everything lay flat against the floor. If you stick metal objects in an outlet, you're going to have a bad time. Want to make sure your kids, dogs, turtles, and drunk friends don't get shocked by anything but your new hairstyle? We've got you. Rotate the AC outlets 45º to block them from having anything plugged in. That way you can keep your friends as safe as your electronics will be with this surge protector.
3. Extra Features
Since we are all obsessed with our phones and no one ever has a charging brick, we added 2 USB ports for good measure. They have a max output of 2.4A, which is plenty to power up a Fire TV Stick or Roku Stick. Sometimes you need power in strange places. Mount your new power strip anywhere with 2 keyholes on the back. Throw in a couple of nails or screws and hang it up in a few minutes. Plus, the flexible 6' power cord means you won't have trouble reaching an outlet.
We knew you were going to ask, so here it is. Yes, we've been tested. UL tested for safety and quality that is. Never heard of UL (Underwriters Laboratory)? It basically means our products are legit. 2 legit 2 quit in fact. And that my friends is why you buy Echogear.

Picking out a surge protector should start by looking at Joules. Joule rating represents how resistant to surges a power strip is. The higher the number, the longer the power strip will last.
RFI/EMI Noise Filtering
In addition to being a surge suppressor, our power products filter out radio frequency and electromagnetic interference in your power supply. That helps your gear perform better, longer.

MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistors) are the sponge that absorbs extra voltage during a surge. We encased our MOVs in ceramic to fireproof them in the event of a monster power surge.

I bought this as a lightning deal so I didn’t pay 35 dollars...if I needed to get a second one I wouldn’t mind paying that because this one works really well.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2023Over all the surge protector works well. I especially like how you can adjust or turn the outlets to accommodate either a larger plug next to it or just if it fits your needs better in that form. Bottom line, based on price and need I would certainly recommend it for purchase and would do so again if needed.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2023Have to knock off a star for having the clamping voltage of 500... Kudos to the manufacturer for actually publishing the clamping voltage, but couldn't you guys get it down to at least 400 volts?
Once you use this power strip, you will never want to use another. Rotating outlets are genius because you can actually use them all. USB ports are a nice bonus and a must-have nowadays.
I found this when looking for a no longer available but practically identical Nekteck power strip (s9p699ni20)
The products are identical with the exception of the Echogear not having a ground indication light or the flat wall rotating plug. The second can be easily solved with an adapter, ironically from Nekteck. Also Echogear claims 1000 plus J rating, while the Nekteck was 580 plus J, so the electronics may be improved in this one. I think the products may have come from the same actual factory, when I look at them side by side. Highly recommend!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2024I was looking for a strip to mount away from the floor and to plug this really odd shaped annoying power block from my Atomos Ninja Inferno. I found this gem and I was able screw it on a wood board and also rotate one of its outlet plugs to accommodate that odd shaped power brick.
I wish it was made out of metal but other than that, it is absolutely perfect for my needs, it's a great value and I highly recommend it!!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2018I wanted to swap it out with an older one that I'm using, then realized that it couldn't accommodate a phone line. My fault for not checking. It is so awesome, I'm not sending it back! (All those rotating outlets). So I'm using it to protect an oil-heater with timer. A power surge blew out my old one. Would have preferred to purchase one in white. Maybe in the future ? Phone line protection in future? The 1080 joules was a factor in my purchase. Higher joule protection would be even better. Good product. Thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars EchoGear power strip, surge protector: rock solid, takes place of three mere power bars
Typical scenario: You build a studio in your basement. It costs a fortune in mics and electronics. What are you going to do? Plug them into a $4 dollar store power bar and risk everything? Actually, yes, I admit I did just that. And went crazy cussing out electronics manufacturers that market a smart, slender headphone amp. Why? The ads, you'll notice, they rarely show the adapter. The reason it's concealed is that it's the size & weight of a pound of butter. You find sufficient space to plug that into, and now you have a towering monument to this modest miracle preamp (substitute effects unit, eDrum pad kit module, etc) Plug two of them into a four-input AC power bar and they're jammed up like bumping cars at a town fairground. Whoops! The power bar is starting to tip over under the weight of your two (2) devices! So you gotta buy another new power bar. Of course, you're always going to have this nagging wonder if the new dollar store (Pound Foolish, Krazy Kroner, etc) power bar offers even minimal protection against the inevitable spike of death--the dreaded power surge. Before I purchased my first (of two) EchoGear strips I was running four separate power bars. I use those cheapo adapters for mundane stuff like vacuum cleaners ("they're sitting around collecting dust") not to hook up important tube microphone external power supply units, to give but one example.
I'd checked the local hardware store and they sold cheap plastic, or bolted-together metal boxes, offering six AC outlets. No, I thought: Same issue, different package. The adapters will go bump in the day. So I took a chance on the EchoGear from the Amazon.ca catalog. I couldn't believe it (and wouldn't til I saw it!). The power inputs, the description said, rotated so that if one adapter rubbed the other the wrong way, all you'd have to do is toggle one of the units to the side, problem gone! The EchoGear arrived in short order. I opened the box wondering just how long it'd last..,.,..if the apparent build quality was any indication, possibly decades. Indeed, I have used both of my EchoGear strips since day-1 without a mishap. And, brilliant! The Echo comes with a decent quality, long cable to tap into the motherlode. The entire unit, even the cardboard box it came in, is built better than the options I'd investigated and it looks like it ought to be in a recording studio, not behind a mechanic's bench. The icing is that the EchoGear cost, I swear, $30 LESS than the hardware store alternative I favored.
I emphasize the following. Buy a roll of two sided tape, or Velcro strips. In either instance, attach one side to the EchoGear, the other side to your work station desk. The power strip won't move an inch, 1/16", or a millimeter, etc.
Do yourself a favor and buy an EchoGear. I'm not a salesman. I don't get a percentage although I am, in fact, open to offers. Seriously, this thing makes life easier. I particularly like the EchoGear unit with 8-rotating outlets. It enables you to use all 8-inputs/plugs, not just the couple that will fit. I bet the EchoGear 8 outlet would accommodate my ancient Nakamishi 550 3-channel (!) cassette recorder plus a modern Art Tube MP plus a Zoom R24 and then add another. It's freedom....freedom for your gear to fit where you need it. Buy it. It's well made, the "gears" on the rotating AC outlets solid and will hold the heaviest power adapter at a 45% angle all day. It has the feel of solid craft....and build (I don't want to say workMANship these days!) and while I prefer the 8-input unit, you may like one of the many variations, but either way you head, secure your unit right away with Velcro or 2-sided tape. I think, as well, there are little receivers for nails or screws on the back. Go with the Velcro. Your problems are over. Life is good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well built protector.
This surge protector is great for plugging in items that have bulky plugs. The plugs can be offset to accommodate various plugs. Worked great for our application. Have used it for a few months now and no issues. Quite satisfied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect power surge bar
This power bar is great for plugging in different sizes of plugs. Regular power bars have the outlets so close together that I can only plug in 3 plugs with empty spaces in between as the plugs are too wide. With this power bar, I turn outlets to the side and can fit all my plugs in. On top of that, which is the main reason I purchased it, having the 2 usb charging ports make it even better. Thankfully, I haven't had a power outage yet, so I can't say how it will perform.

5.0 out of 5 stars documentation is best part
I was looking for a power bar and this fit the bill. Very well made and I will buy more.
However the best part if the info sheet that came with it. Jokes about Princess bride and many other that made it certainly more amusing to read in a time where everything is dull and dreary.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful and definitely worth it.
I honestly like this thing a lot. It gives you more space if needed to fix certain AC/DC adapters as they can vary in size so most don't ever fit beside each other. Only downside about this one is it has no switch cover and the power switch is VERY sensitive. I accidentally hit it while plugging things in and it powered down.
