Editorial Reviews

This is the debut EP from iDKHOW. They are a 2 piece band consisting of Dallon Weekes (ex Panic! At the Disco) and Ryan Seaman (ex Falling in Reverse). The band self released 2 tracks in 2017 that fans discovered and streamed millions of times, earning them a Rock Sound cover as a then unsigned band. They played Reading and Leeds festivals this summer and are on tour with Waterparks in the US during the release of Extended Play.

I've been following iDKHow since Modern Day Cain's release, and I loved this EP. Dallon's vocals and bass lines are creative and incredibly fun to listen to (and learn how to play since I play bass). Ryan's drumming is equally impressive, and the mix of the album is great. The format of the EP being similar to a book on tape is really cool in my opinion and fits the aesthetic of being a band out of time which was supposed to be from the 80s. I pre ordered the CD here 2 days before its set street date and Amazon got it to me 2 days later, despite the original delivery window being a week after the release.

I absolutely LOVE this EP. I’ve been a fan of Dallon for a while and to hear what he’s put out under his own band is beyond impressive. The only problem(s) I have is with the product itself and not the content of the music. In the first picture, you can see that I had to tape the bottom of the paper case that holds the vinyl; it’s really thin and kind of fragile, so I was a little upset that it broke so easily after just a few times of taking it out. In the second picture, the record is a bit warped; not too much, but it makes the first song “Choke” sound kind of funny when it plays. It is a spectacular EP, but I suggest buying it from the band’s actual website (shop.idkhow.com) if you want something legit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Arrived in good condition and wonderful sound!

This was sent across the atlantic ocean and arrived with no cracks! The cassette has good sound (unlike some contemporary printings of cassettes whete the channels are weirdly uneven) and the songs are evenly allocated across the tape so you are not left waiting for 3 mins in silence when you reverse the tape.
Good purchase! Looking forward to the Gloom Division cassette!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a fab album - and arrived in perfect condition
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 19, 2019
I love this album. Esp seeing as both members of the band were in pretty significant and very different bands beforehand (Panic! At The Disco for the singer and bassist and Falling In Reverse for the drummer) - bought the CD to get it signed when I met them at Slam Dunk Festival and it arrived in pristine condition and very quickly, over a week before the festival. Short but sweet - seriously worth a listen to anyone looking for something modern and different.

Cassette is made from really bad plastic, full of scratches although mine was marked as new.
