Editorial Reviews
amo is the long awaited new album Sheffield, England based rock band Bring Me The Horizon. amo is Bring me The Horizon’s sixth studio album, and the lead single from this collection is the driving rock song MANTRA.
The band spent time writing and recording in Los Angeles, with members Oli Sykes and Jordan Fish handling production. What has transpired is one of their most exhilarating, genre crossing albums to date. Says Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes, “amo is a love album that explores every aspect of that most powerful emotion. It deals with the good the bad and the ugly, and as a result we’ve created an album that’s more experimental, more varied, weird, and wonderful than anything we’ve done before.” While amo has some surprises, it very much sticks to the bands successful fan pleasing formula of massive stadium bouncing rocks songs with huge singalong choruses.
Bring Me The Horizon have been on a rocket of a journey over the last few years, selling over 4 Million albums globally to date, playing sell out shows in over 40 countries.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2024My 5th favorite bmth album but one of my favorites for the eclectictiveness of the album, yes I made up that word I believe. They do so many different things on the record yet it's still a bring me the horizon album through and through.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2019I've known of BMTH since their day one. Their first 3 CD's weren't my favorite, a few songs are just classics from that era (that makes me sound old). But Sempiternal was released 2 months before my first child was born and it became her lullaby. It's still one of my favorite albums ever. I was so excited for That's the Spirit to be released and it quickly became another favorite. Amo is definitely more different than their last two... but it's not bad.
I think some people just want their favorite artists to pump out the same music variations over and over... same sound but different lyrics. This isn't how all artists or creativity works. Yes, some artists are known for keeping their sound and just releasing albums that don't push levels of creativity of DIFFERENT but it is methodical and focused creativity still in their safe bubble. This isn't BMTH/Ollie at all... it never will be. Some musicians create music for themselves and put themselves 100% into it... and that is BMTH/Ollie. I am sure he enjoys making money off of his music.... but at the end of the day he creates for himself... not for intake by consumers.
BMTH three latest albums are like walking into an art museum with songs on display instead of canvas. Some need to appreciate music (especially BMTH) as a novel of someones life... not feel good fiction.
Ollie went through hell and he wanted to share it.... enter amo.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2019I must say I agree with everyone that has reviewed this release- BMTH has taken their sound in a new direction, but I for one love it from start to finish. The past albums showed the potential talent was there and with each release one can see them growing as a band. Some metal purists would say they sold out, but in the end I believe this album will make them more mainstream and ultimately help them sell more music. They had a choice- continue the same path of the past and sell to the same fans or expand their sound to include some techno, some pop and some rock influences and soften the screaming and sell to a wider and most extensive group of listeners. This ultimately will pay off for them because each song has potential to be played on a larger scale which leads to more record sales. They could continue the same way and never really hit it big or as they chose to do: take a chance with a more popular mainstream sound with elements of their past to finally make some cash and get paid. I love what they did on this album and I know the hardcore fans of metal/emo will hate the direction. Honestly, there isn’t a bad song on this album.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2023Love BMTH. The only problem is that when I was taking the case out of the plastic, the top hinge broke off so now I need to find a new case.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2019This is probably BMTH’s most polarizing and eclectic album to date. It dives into pop and electronic territories a lot more than their previous release. And I’m totally okay with that. The thing about BMTH is, that despite how weird they get, they never disappoint. So try entering this album with an open mind. You can also appreciate Oli’s singing voice a lot more. And don’t worry, there’s still some rock songs on this album. In my opinion, the standout track on this record is sugar honey ice & tea.
And for all of those people still wanting BMTH to go back to their old sound, Heavy Metal was written just for you ;)
- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2023there is one small crack in the case, but that doesn’t matter much to me. the cd is fine

5.0 out of 5 stars BMTH - amo - edição em vinil 10/10

5.0 out of 5 stars L'album della svolta pop
L'album della svolta pop per la band britannica, potrebbe non piacervi se siete fan della prima ora, ma c'è da apprezzare la creatività e la sensibilità pop. Bella la veste grafica del vinile, in busta trasparente.
