- Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2019Platform: PlayStation 4Edition: StandardVerified PurchaseThis game was created in the U.K. about a post-apocalyptic Russia/Moscow. The video quality is top notch the A.I. is outstanding and gameplay is great. I gave it 4 stars due to the fact that the game takes a bit of time to boot up, but I'm glad I purchased the game.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2020Platform: PlayStation 4Edition: StandardSolid game. I don’t care for story’s too much but liked this one.
Also one of only games that I played through twice and still want more.
If you prefer COD or fortnite, you probably wouldn’t like this game.
If your a grown man with big dick energy than cop this. Salute
- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2019Platform: PlayStation 4Edition: StandardVerified PurchaseAwesome update to the series. The storyline is fantastic and the first person shooter experience is adrenaline pumping. Scary exploration thru the tunnels of Moscow, coupled with some open exploration and stealth missions makes this a great FPS game to add to your library.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2019Platform: PlayStation 4Edition: StandardVerified PurchaseWhere am I going are the only thoughts that come to mind playing this game. I was over it in the first hour. Next.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2019Platform: PlayStation 4Edition: StandardVerified PurchasePROS: The game is amazing. Love how you really have to think your way through many of the situations. This is NOT a ‘shoot your way through’ kind of game. You never seem to have enough ammo, and finding it isn’t very common. Graphics are beautiful.
CONS: If you die or move to the next chapter, the wait is painfully long. My PS4 slim is only 2 years old, so not sure if this game was designed for the Pro model? But when you die, especially in some areas when you die a lot, I have waited 1-2 minutes using the “Quick Load” before I can start again. This is my only complaint.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2019Platform: PlayStation 4Edition: StandardThis game is a survial first person shooter. Has own self contained story; no need to play the previous games.
It's set in a post nuclear war and a linear experience. You face against other humans and mutated animals. It goes semi-open world as you make pit stops from city to city.
There are resource and ammo gathering. These are limited depending on what difficulty level set.
Crafting. There are crafting station for upgrades and on-field crafting for quick resource items like health packs and knives.
Health are gained through health packs you collect or craft
You need to maintain your weapons, and clean them for maximum accuracy and damage.
Due to limited resources, it's more stealth based than run-and-gun
You have to follow a compass on your wrist instead of an arrow or marker on screen. It doesn't point north instead towards your objective. You may get lost during exploration as it's not 100% reliable.
Story/Plot: You're a guy named Artyom. Used to live pre nuclear war and miss the good old days. Everyone is living underground to avoid radiation and stay safe. You go up to the surface to find civilization. Eventually you get banned from from your city, and go city to city to find the right community to live with, and maybe save civilians of the old city you used to live in. There are time skips, each of the 4 major location you visit represent 4 different seasons
Fun discovering how different areas have variety of belief system and cultures. The group that you're with give a lot of banter, backstory and character development. It can be slow paced if you're not into lore and just want to shoot things.
Story can last you 20+ hours depending on difficulty setting selected and how much you explore. There is a good and bad ending.
Graphics are good, but has some dark brown, and black color scheme to it. Monster/mutated creature designs are great. Like how there are subtle animations like having to wipe off debris and dust from your gas mask. All cool action sequences are during cutscenes. Makes me miss QTEs
Sound is really good. Best played with a headset or surround sound system for better detection of directional sound of incoming enemies
Overall, good slow paced first person shooter with a lot of lore behind it.
