State of Euphoria is the fourth studio album by the American thrash metal band Anthrax. It was released on September 19, 1988 through Megaforce/Island Records. - Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2018This was the first Anthrax album I ever owned so there's definitely some nostalgia in this release. Do I think it's their best album? Not in my personal opinion. Among the Living still carries that torch for me. But is it as bad as it's made out to be? Definitely not. I understand the band's opinion that more time could've resulted in a better product but couldn't that be said for most albums? It's honestly perfect the way it is cause it's a snapshot in time of where Anthrax was then and what they stood for. Over the top tempos, drumbeats and riffs... THE mighty Anthrax riff. I know Charlie plays the biggest role in the writing but it's Scott's right hand executing those breakneck picking speeds. Honestly my personal favorite rhythm player besides Hetfield any day. As usual I'll spare the song by song review but I will throw out a rare and probably unpopular personal opinion. It's better than Spreading the Disease. The writing and lyrics are some of their best. And it's the perfect set up album to push them into the darker territory of Persistence of Time. Again not their best but far far far from their worst. Adding the tracks from Penikufesin was a nice bonus as was the extra disc of writing and rehearsal demos... I could've went without the interview segments but again it's a snapshot of a period of time and exactly what an anniversary release should be. *****
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2023The price had me wondering what was so special about this particular release, and it does feel like it's worth the money now that I've had it a while. There's updated liner notes, bonus tracks, and it's just a heavy duty, nice package.

Had this on cassette..the 80s were a magical time for music I was lucky enough to be in it.
And also seen the band on The clash of the Titans tour..1991.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2019Boyfriend absolutely loved it! Thought they did an excellent job remastering it and takes him back to old times. Anthrax was his favorite band before he discovered Pantera! Totally worth the buy! Shipping was great.
