"Formulas in this book for soap, lotions, and all sorts of herbal products are based on CBD cannabidiol from cannabis (Cannabis sativa) flowers, resins, and oil. There are also recipes for salad dressings, beverages, snacks, and desserts. It explains how CBD can support tissue repair, possibly even improving skin tone." —American Herb Association Quarterly
"This book uses natural ingredients to create 60 recipes that incorporate CBD strains of cannabis (Cannabis sativa). It explains selecting and working with various strains and different parts of the plant, as well as the more psychoactive THC cannabinoids. There are a variety of food recipes, herbal formulas for infusions, salves, and lotions, plus spa soap and complicated and intriguing bath bombs containing soapwort (Saponaria officinalis) and dried resins. - Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2022I have all the books this author has published, and this one is my favorite book right up there with her first book, The Cannabis Spa at Home.
I have made quite a few of these recipes, like the bath bombs and lotions (my favorites). As someone who has also had allergic issues to nut oils, cornstarch, artificial fragrances, artificial colors, and preservatives, I've even had some issues with allergies to some essential oil blends. I especially love the method used in this book to give a very light, fresh and natural fragrance to the baths and topical products. These recipes use no essential oils and no artificial fragrances or additives, yet they have this fresh garden-like smell that's very subtle.
The bath bombs came out great when I made them. I had no issues with my CBD oil addition to the water sticking to the tub. The oil emulsified perfectly in the water using the ingredients in the recipe which are all plant-based. These bath bomb recipes contain no synthetic additives for emusification, it's achieved by using plant-based ingredients exclusively. You won't find this recipe online because the author of this book is the original formulator of this kind of bath bomb using these ingredients.
I love the lotions because they have no preservatives. Only lotions made with water need preservatives anyhow. And you can also refrigerate lotions with water-based ingredients and use them quickly. I use up my CBD and cannabis topicals fast because they help so much for joint pain relief.
I'm also scratching my head over another review here which seems to be misrepresenting the content of the recipes in this book. The foreword for this book was written by a medical doctor (MD). There is nothing 'dangerous' about the methods described in this book. But there are business competitors from Etsy who take the low road and post misinformation in Amazon reviews.
If you want to explore a book with a fresh perspective on bath and topicals formulation for CBD-infused products made at home this is the book for you. If plant-based is your thing, this book is for you. If you have sensitivities like I do, this book is for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2019If you're looking for how to make CBD-infused oil and then how to use that oil in skin care products, this is a great book! She gives plenty of detailed information and recipes.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2019Nice photos, inspiring recipes.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2024Covers many issues. I use it frequently
- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2020I love using CBD salve for lower back and knee inflammation. It keeps it in check and the tincture helps with migraines. But to me, it's kind of stinky and for use at bedtime. With some of these salve recipes, not only is it effective, but smells pretty good! I love the scientific glass keeper idea too.
Sandra is a professional educator, which is exactly the kind of information I was seeking. I am able to expand on her ideas for my own use too. I thank her for sharing her knowledge.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2022As someone who has made soap and bath bombs for 10+ years, the information provided is inaccurate. NEVER use glass to make soap in. The lye will etch the glass and eventually it will explode. If you are going to hot process it, make sure the slow cooker is not made of aluminum as the lye will have a toxic reaction to it. You don’t need to cure your soap in cheesecloth and Hot or cold process, it should be left alone for 6 weeks. Any lotions should have a preservative. The bath bomb recipe has no emulsifier. I use polysorbate 80. Without an emulsifier, the oil is just going to sit on top of the water instead of mixing with it. The rest of the recipes use expensive oils/butters and herbs and additives that are not commonplace. The extraction methods were interesting but again, water is introduced when it doesn’t necessarily need to be. The comments regarding pain medication rubbed me the wrong way. Not everyone loves pain pills, but nor should people be shamed who use them appropriately.
If you want to check out the way to formulate recipes, learn briefly about extractions, this is a good starting point but definitely do research outside of the methods provided.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2019I love to look at this book daily. The author inspires me with her positive, healthy outlook specially given her own health struggles. The recipes are beyond the norm youd find online as they are superior formulations. The photos are eye candy of the health food kind.

Gracias. El libro llego tal cual aparece en su foto. Muy bueno: de todo un poco y balanceado en cuanto al tema. Desde masaje y spa hasta como realizar bebidas y alimentos enfocados en un problema especifico de salud. En mi caso, la alergia.
