Update: DO NOT STORE IN ANY POSITION BUT HORIZONTLE!!**NOT MAGNETIC**In the pic, I added magnetic tape to the lids of the markers.This is a bit more difficult than otherreviews I've done. Maybe I overlooked, or didn't look well enough, in the description, but I did not expect this type of marker/liquid chalk/paint marker whatever the correct term is. I expected them to be like a regular dry erase, Crayola, or Sharpie type marker. Not a marker I had the "prime" and be so specific about storage. They DO work, I just was surprised.The AMAZING: The two different head/tip types are a really cool feature. Switching from the round tip to the chisel/slant tip is just as easy as the pic in the product description says. Yes, the color gets on your finger and thumb. It washes off easily with just water. I did try both types. The round is perfect for everyday use on my calendar. It's not too thick and depending on how you hold it, you do have some control over how fine (thick/thin) it is. The chisel tip is fun. I like making calligraphy-esque lettering. In essence, the options are double with 2 tips. PLUS having labels included is a fun and useful bonus I did not expect.The GOOD:These are VIBRANT colors on a black dry erase board. I have not tried on any other surface. Every color shows up beautifully. In the pic, you can see some of the colors. Once the marker is primed, the color comes out even. No globs, no "missed" or "see thru" bits at all. Clean up is easy. If you get it on your skin, water takes it off. On the board, I've used my finger to wipe a small mistake. But for large areas, I do get a wet paper towel to clean.The BAD:I am not a huge fan of having to store them tip down. You can see in the pic every single one is like that. I experimented and kept one upright, the other tip down. After 3 days, I had to re-prime the upright one. Not so with the tip down one. Again,not a HUGE deal, but noteworthy, imo.The UGLY....is not really ugly at all:The worst thing is that it didn't come magnetic. I knew that when I bought them, and adding the magnetic tape wasn't hard. Or expensive. But that's the one feature I wish it had and made the choice with another type difficult for me.

    Bought these for the first/last day of school signs. Love the color options and appreciated the more “fine” point. It’s not super fine but not big and wide like other pens I have ordered. It dried pretty quickly and is easy to remove if necessary. Last year and this year I wrote on the sign and it lasted until the next time I had to update it so I think it’s pretty durable. They just hang out on my fridge when they aren’t being used but I have had no issues with the pends leaking.

    I should’ve taken a picture of my hands too. It is messy if you want to switch to the chisel side of the pen tip. BUT, they are water-based. So all I needed to do was wash my hands with soap and water. It was an easy clean up. I’m also glad they aren’t smelly.

    So, good news is that these do work on my school's old green chalkboards. As you can see in my pictures, I had no problem erasing them. All it takes is water and a paper towels.
    Bad news is that it's very difficult to write on the chalkboard with them. You need to have the pen angled downward so the ink can flow out. This isn't possible for a wall chalkboard; so I have to shake the markers every 10 seconds and start them writing on a flat surface before applying to the chalkboard. Totally unrealistic for a lesson, but for a display - sure, it's fine.

    They're just alright.

    So, good news is that these do work on my school's old green chalkboards. As you can see in my pictures, I had no problem erasing them. All it takes is water and a paper towels.
    Bad news is that it's very difficult to write on the chalkboard with them. You need to have the pen angled downward so the ink can flow out. This isn't possible for a wall chalkboard; so I have to shake the markers every 10 seconds and start them writing on a flat surface before applying to the chalkboard. Totally unrealistic for a lesson, but for a display - sure, it's fine.

    I have been having so much fun with these. It really is like painting with a pen. There was a small learning curve, I didnt realize you have to kind of prime the pen tip by pushing the tip against a hard surface a few times until you see the color start to soak into the tip. Once that's done you just write, draw, etc. I have found these to be extremely pigmented and very easy to work with. I will say it is kind of stubborn in wiping it off, but that makes them absolutely perfect in my eyes. I mainly use these to label my pantry goods, and it is a major plus that it can stand up to a finger running across it or things along those lines, so my labels stay readable until I choose to wipe it clean and relabel. I have also used these on adult coloring books, and have found that a quick spritz of cheap hairspray locks the colors in place. I continue to be impressed by the quality of the products that the chalkola brand offers on here. I have purchased several of there sets, and continue to be impressed by the price, quality, and even there customer service is top notch. Over all, you def wont be disappointed, highly highly recommend!!!!

    I am really disappointed in these pens. Worked great the first few times. After three weekly uses, the pens drip if they write at all. Usually, writing erases any previous marks. So frustrated

    I needed fine chalk pens for my labels some of which are only 2-3cm diameter as the pens that came with the labels ran out but were also very difficult to use to write on the smallest sizes. I bought the 1mm version in "Earth colours". You need to spend 3-4 minutes(total) 'activating' all the pens when new by shaking them and pumping the nib until it swells with colour but then you're good to go. I've used each one to show every colour on one of my larger my labels (I use these for jars of dried goods and herbs in the kitchen) the colours are surprisingly good and the pens write flawlessly & dry very well. I was in two minds buying them as I didn't truly need a whole set but I'm glad I did, I will probably re-do all my labels colour coded now! Anyway, a great buy, a high quality 1mm chalk pen that does the job even better than I expected. Very pleased, would but again and would recommend.

    Colors are earthy, so don’t expect neon. the markers are great. They leave a bit of a smudge when wiped the first time, but when you wipe using a damp towel or eraser, it works perfectly. I used it on a blackboard.
