Works great for what I need. Just to cover a few problem outlets for when my little grandson visits. For the price it’s hard to beat the set and they work fine. I think these work best on Decora outlets, not the standard style one.The reason being, is that there are two screws used on the Decora. One on top and one on bottom of the plate. This makes the cover fit much more securely. If you have the old style outlets it’s not as sturdy. As it only has one screw in the center.It’s a very tight fit as I had to snap it over two power strip cords plugged in. These are very thick gauge cords, so it was hard to snap the cover shut. That’s not a problem with the product though. It’s just that the cords are very thick gauge. Bang for the buck this works good.

    This does what it says. It'll go over a standard two-socket outlet and is easy to install. The problem I have with it, and what seems like a lot of other people have issues with, is that if you tug on it, the sides will pull away from the wall. This has more to do with the fact that it's thing plastic. A good nudge from a chair or a table leg will most likely crack it.

    MY GRIPE is that the holes for the power cable are designed for standard cables. This might've been good before the 2000's but times have changed and a lot of plugs are made at an angle now. The only solution to this is to wrap the cable around the plug and then run it down to the exit hole. This only works on thinner cables. On thicker, extension cord cables, good luck.

    I was able to get it to work with a little extra force but a good nudge and the protector will pop open. So at the end of the day, does it do the job? Yes. Does it do the job well? Not if you're using more modern devices with plugs that come at an angle.

    My 2 year old is very curious now so they'llpush, pull, prod, dropkick anything that's slightly out of place. This definitely won't work in their room for our needs and their safety.

    I have some Safety First covers from a couple years ago when I had my first baby, and bought these Dreambaby when my second baby started crawling. As you can see from the photos the Safety First brand is much larger and made of stronger heavy plastic. It’s impossible for a toddler or preschooler to open. In fact I had issues opening it once it’s installed. But the opening for the cord at the bottom is very small. It can fit a regular thin lamp cord, but not a thicker cord like from a power strip which is what I needed. The Dreambaby brand definitely fits larger cords but is much smaller and it’s hard to cram a larger rectangular outlet plug in it. The plastic is thinner and flimsier and easier to open. I doubt a toddler could open it but a 3 or 4 year old with good fine motor skills could probably open it.

    If the Safety First cover was redesigned just a bit to accommodate larger cords it would be the best choice in my option. But I did end up returning these because I need it to fit a larger plug in.

    Comparing Dreambaby to Safety First

    I have some Safety First covers from a couple years ago when I had my first baby, and bought these Dreambaby when my second baby started crawling. As you can see from the photos the Safety First brand is much larger and made of stronger heavy plastic. It’s impossible for a toddler or preschooler to open. In fact I had issues opening it once it’s installed. But the opening for the cord at the bottom is very small. It can fit a regular thin lamp cord, but not a thicker cord like from a power strip which is what I needed. The Dreambaby brand definitely fits larger cords but is much smaller and it’s hard to cram a larger rectangular outlet plug in it. The plastic is thinner and flimsier and easier to open. I doubt a toddler could open it but a 3 or 4 year old with good fine motor skills could probably open it.

    Little bit off the measurement for the Australian outlet but I manage to cover it. Although you can’t use the on and off switches if you just want to just cover the outlet, it does the job 👍🏻. Good quality. I wish they made one for Aussie size too.

    They fit my outlets perfectly, the included screws that were longer were perfect to replace the usual ones. Took all of 5 minutes to install and I think they will work well to stop our baby from playing with the plug in since we can’t cover it. Make sure your cord goes straight down as I had to change power bars so it would fit. Not a big deal!

    It would be great if there was an attached flexible tube that held the cord safely but I can’t seem to find anything with that so this will do!
