Editorial Reviews
Upon its release in 2013, NEW, was lauded by Rolling Stone as "energized and full of joyous rock & roll invention.” Executive produced by Giles Martin and also featuring production by Mark Ronson, Ethan Johns and Paul Epworth, it entered the U.S. chart at #3. The album scored positive reviews from Entertainment Weekly to Pitchfork and all points in between, while the title track, “Queenie Eye” and “Save Us” would become staples of the McCartney live show over the course of the Out There and One On One world tours.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2013Sir Paul McCartney could easily not put out an album for years and still be the premier artist today. The fact that after 50 years of performing he can still find inspiration to not only put out quality material but put out material that at times can be timely and at other nostalgic Macca is overwhelming.
The album opens with the rocker "Save Us" which revisits the old Macca format of a driving guitar and that familiar McCartney bass style. From there this album takes you on different avenues. "Get Me Out Of Here" utilizes a 12 string guitar which has a sound similar to Zepplin from "Physical Graffiti" at times. "Early Days" paints the picture of the struggles that he and John Lennon went through to become the colossal icons they became. "Queenie Eye" has a riff with a consistency that stays with you long after the last note. Another standout is "Everybody Out There" which again utilizes the 12 string guitar to maintain the forceful drive introduces with the album opener.
McCartney utilized different producers for this album which brings even yet a different feel that works. At times his voice has a style which harkens back to his Wings days while at others the natural aging of 70+ years adds a dimension that reminds us of the truth of his age and ours.
Sir Paul McCartney is on the same level as Mozart, Beethoven and Bach. He is a world treasure that will be cherished long after he has left us, one who will be remembered for centuries to come. Any opportunity there is to experience a new element of this genius is one to be savored....."NEW" does not disappoint in this element.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2013As always, Paul McCartney has released what I consider a great set of songs. I have to listen to each song at least three times before I get a feel for what he's doing -- I have to do that with every piece of music regardless of artist. I just love what I'm discovering in these songs. I find it so different from his previous work and is of some of his best to date.
It's truly McCartney in every way, but really new stuff. My favorites are "I Can Bet" and "New". I imagine that several more will become my favorites too as I listen more.
I certainly recommend this release to those who love McCartney's music. If you have a sense of what his career has been, you'll love these songs even more.
For those who are not familiar with his music this is a great release that I think almost anyone would thoroughly enjoy. This guy rocks, writes great slower tunes, and delivers super lyrics with some of the most unusual sounds throughout his music.
It never quits with him.
Go for it Paul!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2013Paul McCartney is so upbeat and it's very infectious.
He never demands it, but people around him just can't help supporting him, enjoying what he does and sing along with him. There is always a song in my heart and he put most of them in there.
Even his latest CD. I find myself humming a song, thinking of the words and then I realize it's from the new CD. How does he do that - make such memorable catchy songs? Is there a studied contrived science to it?
How can he just spontaneously create a melody that gets in your heart and mind and makes you happy?
The title song, New. is just lovely and finishes with beautiful vocal harmonies.
Still amazing after all these years.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2013I agree - a master craftsman songwriter.
I remember, back in the 60s 70s, a new Beatle song would come on the radio, & it always had that peculiar novelty about it - something like, "That was clever - I never heard that little twist before". But then you'd hear it a few more times & you'd be incapable of thinking it could be any other way.
I had that experience again when I heard "New" - new Beatle songs - pop music has changed again.
Especially liked the song about their younger days, & the last song on the album is a killer - "Sir Paul" indeed!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2021Great album with catchy songs! I saw him on tour supporting this album, thought it would be great to have this as a keepsake.

3.0 out of 5 stars Se ve bien pero suena mal
Esta edición rosa traslúcido se ve impresionante, aunque la calidad de audio es inferior a la edición estándar. Buen artículo de colección, no muy buen artículo para reproducción.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice job!
Flat pressing, no damage to sleeve, amazing pink colour. Fantastic sounding record. Well done! It’s very rare that a record has absolutely 0 issues with it so I am delighted with my purchase.
