Chicken noodle soup, guacamole, granola, cooked ham, some fresh cilantro from a friend, a loaf of bread bread, & even a bottle of perfume I didn’t want stinking up my luggage while traveling - every bag I’ve made from these rolls has sealed perfect and functioned without flaw every single time (using a Foodsaver Wingman). It seems as if they help to maintain vacuum during the sealing process. The material has a slightly different feel, and with moist food the textured side did not wick fluid before automatically switching from vac to seal. It also did not let air seep back in with dry goods once it started sealing, even after stopping the vac early and manually switching to seal to prevent crushing of dry goods. This has not been my experience with the factory bags and the improvement has me actually using the machine much more than I had prior. The only thing I missed from the old bags, given these are black, was the white strip to write on. A silver sharpie worked fine. Save the old cardboard, use it to wind half a roll around, and store it in your machine just fine.

Plastic seems to be of a good thickness, and the dozen or so bags I've made since I got the rolls haven't had any issues either in the freezer or in immersion circulator baths.One thing to be aware of if you have the Nesco sealer is that the rolls are too thick to fit inside the unit by default. I ended up rolling off about a quarter of the first roll into its own smaller roll to get them to fit. (see pictures) I don't see it as a major problem (it took maybe a minute to "fix"), but it's something other Nesco owners might want to be aware of.
