Not a fan even for the money
I think the serious uneven falling out bristles on these brushes is just a cheap way to get you to buy them. To get a cleaner stroke and to try to cut down on the bristles keep falling out. I trimmed mine because I was in a pinch and needed to use what I got on a project. The bristles did keep still fall out but it was a little less. Some of these made fine considering you have to doctor them but as for the rest they go in the trash.

I would recommend these brushes to anyone who needs to apply yucky coatings on a project.

I bought these brushes for one time use - mostly for applying small amounts of epoxy resin coatings of wood projects. And for the price ? A great bargain ! I won't be using them too often, maybe once a month so the $damage is tolerable. Do be aware these are not high or even low end paint brushes - just for quick-and-dirty use. The all-natural china bristles are not going to wilt in whatever you plan to use them for ... epoxy, water, acetone, alcohol ... like nylon or polyester bristles often do. Same for the handle 'cause it's unpainted wood. I have been known to trim the bristles down without any hesitation.

Pros: Inexpensive, practical, throw away-able, tolerant to many things so won't sag.
Cons: Won't leave a top shelf finish without a lot of post-process or secondary steps.

I use these basically as acid brushes - use them once and throw them away. For serious painting work I use Purdy or Wooster brushes, but the cleaning process to reuse them is a real hassle and time-consuming. For disposable brushes the quality is actually pretty good:

    1. Yeah, 1-2 loose hairs but you can easily pull them out before you use them
    2. The brushes have a uniform amount of bristles per brush; it's not like some brushes have a lot and some too sparse
    3. Accurate rivet locations, not all over the place
    4. Consistent placement of the ferrules, not crooked or loose
    5. Consistent quality of wood: uniformly white, no knots or splinters

With these cheap brushes the best practice is go down to the DIY store and pick out good brushes from the lot on the shelf. Buy a box of these and you don't need to bother. So for the price, you really can't complain.

This is the second time I've bought a box of these chip brushes. They lay down paint just like the big box store basic brushes at half the cost. When you just need a cheap brush to test out paint colors without having to wash and rinse between colors, these are your brushes. If you need something for fine detail, I recommend looking for something different.
