My 11 year old son has played soccer for several years. He went through a huge growth spurt over the summer and has been complaining about various aches and pains so this season I anticipated the feet being an issue this year. I purchased various kinds of comfort products for his cleats and when he started complaining we sat down and tried them out.
The gel padded shoe inserts were a great idea because they seemed to solve the immediate concern which was blisters from shoe rub on the back of the heel and pain in the bottom of his heel. However, the pads didn't fit correctly because of how the back of the cleats are shaped. So, small areas of the sticky side were exposed. The grass and dirt stuck to it and prevented them from staying put.
So I though, "what about a thin nylon sock that has the padding on the inside?" Well, the nylon foot sleeves were comfortable to wear, but made his foot slide around inside the shoe, crushing his toes every time he took a step. If you've ever worn pantyhose with shoes that are just a little too big you'll know what I'm talking about. So I had him put his soccer socks on over the nylon sleeves but same thing happened.
Then, I found these. Best of both worlds! The thickness of the material is perfect and the hell on the inside is thin enough to be comfortable but thick enough to provide cushion. The shape of the gel inside the sock sleeve mirrors the back and bottom of the foot so no uncomfortable drop off from edges of the material (like stepping on something. That's what the nylon ones were like because the gel was shapped to match the shoe, not the foot) The sock material is thin enough to wear under his soccer socks too so it doesn't take up a bunch of room in his shoe (no need to get a bigger shoe size to accommodate the sleeve).
He loved these the minute he put them on. After practice that night he said he completely forgot he had them on and there was no pain.
He has practice twice a week with games on the weekends, so the fact you get two pair makes this a great purchase.

My son has heel pains. We’ve tried tapping, heel cups and insoles. Overall these have worked well for him. He still has pain but not has bad. It has nice cushioning.
The quality is ok. It came with 2 sets and the set he is wearing is unraveling a little on the foot.
