    Great Color
This is my second pilot metropolitan. The first is a fine nib and is super wet to the point of leaky. The cm nib, however, is drier and doesn’t leave ink on my fingers. It does leak into the cap though, even with the pen lying flat rather than pointing down.As for smoothness, I compared my TWSBI Eco 1.1mm stub ($29) to the Pilot Metropolitan CM ($21). They both wrote well on a regular Five Star notebook, but the Pilot was noticeably harsher on my Moleskin pages. (Very) Slightly reminiscent of nails on a chalkboard. I’ll easily use it writing in the notebook, but will switch to a different pen if the pages are similar to Moleskines. The Pilot has good line variation, but doesn’t have the same thickness the TWSBI has. Overall, not bad at all for the price. A bit harsh on certain paper, but nice line variation and ink flow. And the red and black is very eye catching.

The “CM” nib (Cursive Medium), is perfect for my everyday writing style. It allows for a small/average size font, but adds the look of calligraphy due to the squared off nib. The 1.00 mm square nib is only available if you buy another pen. Come on Pilot… your making them anyway for your pens. Why not make a run of extras and sell them for $5 each!

The red color was a deeper metallic red, more professional looking than plasticy, and is a metal pen, with a little weight, but not heavy. It's pretty good in my big hand, I write with it capped, and the cap does stay on well, don't sling it around too much. For people with little hands, this is pretty perfect uncapped. I bought a stub nib, or italic/calligraphy, and it is very noticeable and yet, very smooth and great looking on the paper. I thought the design would look cheesy, but in person, looks really nice. Worth the money. Came in the mail faster than expected. I like that it is not too wet because wet pens lay down a darker line with little shading, this babe will shade!

The pen itself is amazing. I needed a stub nib fountain pen and this did the trick. It writes more smoothly than I am use to. My only issue so far is the converter - I admit I am not used to this kind but its hard to tell when you are running out of ink because its not a screw converter. That being said it does the trick I just wish it was a bit cleaner.

I have no complaints regarding unexpected issues. It takes proprietary Pilot cartridges, but that's just how it is. (More on that at the end.)

This is my first stub nib, and only my 2nd pen overall. I got it just to toy with line variation in a different nib, and didn't expect it to be so smooth! It's not quite as smooth as my Beirluner M, but it's surprisingly close unless I'm writing very fast. I've used the included Pilot cartridge and Organic Studios "Nitrogen", and they both provide a wonderfully crisp line. I actually end up with my smallest and neatest penmanship with this thing, which isn't at all what I expected.

I like the finish, weight, shape, and size of the pen. I'm pretty new to fountain pens, and I'm not consistent with whether I post or not. I've never had an issue with leaks, flow, or sliding my hand up too far and getting ink on my fingers from the feed.

To sum this up, I've had zero issues, and a far better writing experience than I expected.

I having been using this for a couple months now. I ordered the stub nib and love it. This nib has a little flex to it, but not much. I have several of these along with a couple cheap jinhao’s. I use a different ink in each one. In the red I keep a noodler’s waterproof bulletproof red ink. Fits nicely in my shirt pocket. Is slim and smooth. Comes with a squeeze bulb converter, I added a con-40 pistin converter. Hoping a larger con-50 or con-70 will fit to hold more ink, but I am researching this.
In all, this is an excellent pen for the price!

I have gotten back into the fountain pen world. I now own a couple of different ones like this and a TWSBI 580. They all have their place.

On this pen, I started by buying several Metropolitan Fine Nib pens for family at Christmas with journal notebooks. They ALL LOVED THEM. My daughter who is not one to get too excited said how much she loved her Metropolitan. This coming from an degreed art major and artist. My wife loves hers and couldn't say enough good things about it after a recent trip to Italy where she journaled every day and even did some art journal entries using the Metropolitan.

OK, so I wanted a stub nib for various reasons. My TWSBI is a fine nib. So I ordered the Metropolitan with the 1.0 Stub nib. Suffice it to say, I love it and actually use it more as an everyday pen. I love the "calligraphic" flair it adds to my signature on business papers and so on. It also puts down the ink normally. The inks dries normally and fast. By comparison, I have tried other stub nibs and they put down ink too heavy and wet.

This is a nice pen and you can't beat it for the price either. Very nice.

While I don't have that mush experience with fountain pens, I am quite impress by the quality considering its low price. The whole exterior is nice and all metal. I have the red version. This pen is perfect if you are leaning, or just writing for the fun of it.

I love Pilot Metropolitans as they are weighty pens. I was expecting a stub nib but it's actually a calligraphy medium. I have Pilot Prera with a calligraphy medium and it's smooth, but this pen is smoother. I looked it up and the proper stub nib <S> is a 1.1 mm nib, and this is a 1.0 mm, so <CM>. I love this pen and am going to use it with my other Metropolitan (black with <M> nib). Very smooth, and that' s a pretty red.
