Really pretty and thick
I looked at a lot of runners before settling on this one. I originally didn’t want a runner on the table because I didn’t want to lose the chevron work of my custom table. However, I have this center piece that I love and adore but it has TERRIBLE feet on it. Basically equivalent to barbed wire it seems. We use this table for everything - dinner, homework, working - so the center piece is always being scooted around. I tried to be careful but finally managed to scratch the table one day pushing the center piece so I decided to get a runner for the piece to rest on. I have a shabby chic vibe going so I originally looked at jute/burlap but decided that they were both such thin materials with a lot of space in between the fibers due to the loose weave that I did not feel like it would really protect the legs of the centerpiece from touching the table. I finally came across this particular runner and felt like it maintains the neutral look I was going for but it is a tightly woven, thick, slightly padded runner. It has served its purpose perfectly. I can now just slide the entire runner over without worrying that the centerpiece will scratch the table, and I actually quite like the finished look it gives the table.

I got this runner to protect the wood counter on our built-in cabinets. It fits perfectly and is thick enough that I’ll never have to worry about dents or setting hot items on top of it. The ribbed pattern also keeps it from sliding too much. The long edges aren’t as straight as they appear online. If you’re going for a cleaner, modern, look this might not be the right choice for you. It fits my needs perfectly though.
