Product Description
Berlin Station is a contemporary spy series that follows Daniel Miller (Richard Armitage), an undercover agent who has just arrived at the CIA station in Berlin, Germany. Miller has a clandestine mission: to determine the identity of a now-famous whistleblower masquerading as "Thomas Shaw." Guided by jaded veteran Hector DeJean (Rhys Ifans) Daniel learns to contend with the rough-and-tumble world of the field officer - agent-running, deception, danger and moral compromises. As he dives deeper into the German capital's hall of mirrors and uncovers the threads of a conspiracy that leads back to Washington, Daniel wonders: Can anyone ever be the same after a posting to Berlin? Cody is the best BA in the world.....maybe

- Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2018While the first episode was a bit disjointed, the series becomes exponentially more intense with each episode. It starts at the climax and works back. Richard Armitage gives a much more nuanced performance compared to his role in MI-5. The supporting cast is superb. Each character starts in a position of power and confidence. As a mole rocks the CIA and Berlin Station with exposes, the cast tries to protect themselves and their own dirty secrets. The writer makes it clear you are only
as good as your connections, and a secret can't remain so in a lethal environment. Ultimately, the cast is led toward treason
and criminality, while trying to escape the mole's web. Ultimately, the story becomes a quest for moral redemption. Berlin is seedy and decadent, perfect for this storyline. Sexuality and four-letter words abound, so be warned. The violence is not Hollywood stylish, but gritty and quick. A minor masterpiece.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2024I’ve seen the entire series previously but. I liked it so much, I decided it would be worth owning.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2017This one of the best post cold war spy dramas I have seen. It is written well, the actors are very good, and Berlin is the perfect city for a spy thriller. I wish we would see more of Berlin's unique places in this show. My sister in law lived in Berlin for 15 years . I visited many times and she showed me many interesting places in this fascinating city . Watch it you will not be disappointed .

- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2019Berlin Station posits a mole in the CIA's Berlin Station who is feeding leaks to the media. The CIA sends in an operative under cover to expose the mole and, through a tumultuous ten episodes, the mole is unmasked.
The series was filmed in Berlin, and the location shots are great. A real Valentine to a gritty, interesting city. The actors, too, are all quite good and the dialogue was often very good as well.
Unfortunately, there are some bizarre continuity problems which were blindingly obvious. For instance, the mole gets access early on to the undercover agent's cell phone and can use it to hear everything that's going on within range of the phone - except when it can't. Or, a terrorist has taken a CIA agent hostage with the help of two thugs, one of whom is killed and the other of whom just isn't there when they burst in on the terrorist and the hostage.
Nonetheless, definitely worth a watch and will probably watch series 2 when the opportunity arises.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2017A class act from start to finish in every department. A real brain teaser at times but I like that. So much stuff on TV is bland, uninspiring and unchallenging so this was right up my street. Loved the atmospheric locations. Being a Richard Armitage fan my one complaint is there was a bit too much of Hector and not enough Daniel in later episodes but I still enjoyed the show. Have been waiting ages to see it on UK TV so decided to buy the American DVD even though it will probably be more expensive than waiting for a UK release. Waiting with anticipation for Series 2 !!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2019I think this product may be mislabled as DVD because it looks like and acts like a blue ray. I was so disappointed as I am a Richard Armitage fan and was so looking forward to his new series from epic TV. Not to be as I returned the first one thinking it was defective and the second one acted the same with the message on BOTH of my DVD players and DVD player on my computer as "not compatible." So it is either a Blue Ray or a different region.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2019Actually I haven't watched the DVD set yet as my DVD player is not working properly. However, I did watch the series on EPIX when it was on a couple of years ago and I loved it. All of the characters are interesting and the actors who play them are outstanding. The scenarios are topical. I have also watched the second and third seasons on EPIX and look forward to getting the DVD sets on them as well.
