Enjoyable Science Kit but no included scientific explantions for the experiments
    * Pictures are of Glowing Lava Jar, Glow Slime & the Glow Stick My 8 & 10 year old enjoyed doing this kit. It contains 10 experiments. 6 of the labs are acid/base neutralizations using baking soda and citric acid or vinegar. Then there are three glow in the dark projects. Extra household items you will need are : tonic water, vinegar, hand soap, one apple and 2 Zip Lock bags. The included instructions are easy to understand but unfortunately there are no scientific explanations given for the experiments. All of the labs worked for us. The only two experiments that had unclear directions were for the glowing lava jar and the glow slime. The glow slime instructions are incorrect when it states to add the glow paint after the slime is made. You want to mix it into the glue and water before you add the borax solution. For the lava glow jar, it looks really cool for a very short time and then all the layers start moving around and mixing. I like that this set included a black light pen to shine on the glow in the dark projects.

My granddaughter has several of the mc2 sets. She was very excited to get this one.

My daughter was so excited for this kit and it didn’t live up to our expectations. The box says all items needed are included, but that is not the case. Most of the items you can make and experiments advertised on the box require extra ingredients. The first thing my daughter chose to make was a no go because I didn’t have tonic water on hand. She settled on the glow-in-the-dark slime because we didn’t need extra items. The slime was terrible. A cup of goop that took 3 days to finally be pliable and mixed well enough to be held. These kits are such a let down because my daughter loves S.T.E.A.M. activities and these Mc2 sets always fall short.

Got this for my daughters 6th birthday because she loves doing “science” and this was perfect. They are experiments that we could do together
