The blades are very strong, like a kitchen knife, the scraper is amazing, may bend over time but was efficient at gutting the pumpkin. The tube hole punch piece will now forever have pumpkin stuck in it though, very difficult to get that out. Worth the purchase for all the orange handled pieces, the tan ones are a bonus if you can figure out how to use them effectively! I'm glad we have this now for the years to come! Having two boys who will both want to carve at the same time, this will help have tools for everyone at once.

Nothing ground breaking but a great little kit to have for Halloween each year
This is a pretty nifty little kit to have when Halloween rolls around every year. I would definitely consider myself a novice pumpkin carver though so I did not get a whole lot of use out of some of the smaller more specialized carving tools that are included in this kit. The more basic tools I did get more use out of were very well made though, and it is very helpful having 2 sizes of saws, easily make quick work of carving out the top but get a little better detail with ease with the smaller size saws. And I did find some uses for the specialized tools as well, they are great for cleaning up the edges of all your cuts making everything look much nicer, and you can easily add some great little details to the eyes, teeth, and whatever you feel like. Every tool in this kit looks and feels to be very well made and being dishwasher safe is just fantastic! The way the scooper is designed is very helpful getting all the stringy bits cut out of the pumpkins as well. I have no doubt I will be using this kit for our jack o' lantern carving for many years to come. The carrying case feels pretty sturdy as well and keeping everything together in the case is very helpful so things don't get moved around and lost between each year leaving you to keep buying the same stuff over and over again.

I havent carved pumpkins in years and as I remember, I used to spend hours and then get frustrated because my knife would slip and I'd end up ruining the whole design. These were very sharp, easy to use. The pumpkin scraper tool (I don't know the technical name) and scooper were awesome. I had the whole pumpkins cleaned in a few minutes. I give it 4 stars on durability because I did have one tool break when I first went to use it but there was a second similar tool in the kit that I could use instead. It was the silver one with the hoop on the end that broke. The whole hoop fell out of the handle. For someone who hadn't carved a pumpkin in 5+ years, I made some pretty cool pumpkins!
Worked Great! Haven't carved pumpkins in years. Having the right tools makes a big difference

This set helped me carve the cutest pumpkin I’ve ever carved - in all 30 years of carving pumpkins. If it is important to have nice looking pumpkins outside of your home, or if you want to win some pumpkin carving competitions at the office, get this set. You will use it forever. PLUS the tools can be used for other things around the house that require a fine tip (like getting out wood nails from a door when you realized too late that it was a bad idea to hammer them in).

I bought this hoping to try my hand at 3D pumpkin carving. I thought those loop tools would be sharp and serve to shave off the pumpkin skin, they’re about as sharp as a spoon, could not for the life of me figure out what they’re meant for. The hole punching tools have no outlet to remove the punched out pieces from the inside of the tool, so you’re going to put it away with pumpkin rotting inside -or- as in my case it will eventually just break because it gets so packed full of pumpkin. The smaller pointy tools were the ones I ended up mostly using, these are semi sharp and do cut through the pumpkin decently. The saw/knives are your standard $5 kit from the grocery store kind, thin and bendy. The pumpkin gut scooper was actually pretty nice. Over all, the tools arent that impressive but the holder is this thing’s saving grace. The little case is really nice. The tools, meh. If you’re looking for a kit that you can crank out a decent pumpkin with, I’m sure you can find a cheaper one. If you want a kit with great tools, this is not for you. If you just want an ok kit that you can use to carve a couple ok pumpkins, this kit has your name all over it.
