My dogs, both a year old & around 55lbs, an Australian Shepherd and Black Lab absolutely LOVE to chew these bones. It's their favorite thing to chew. They continue chewing them when all the flavoring on the outside is gone and they are small little nubs. I have to watch them because they will try to steal each other's bones. It's pretty fun to watch them try to out scheme the other. One will sometimes go to the back door and beg or bark to go outside then the other will go outside with them leaving their bone. The first dog will rush back inside to get the bone. I've also seen one start to joyously play with a toy in front of the other and when the other dog gets up to play the first dog snags their bone. I have to play referee sometimes, but it's worth it with how long these bones last and how much they enjoy them. I haven't had any problems with them splintering.
I think my dogs have the cleanest teeth too. All the chewing and grinding on these bones gets all the plaque off. My dogs are only a year old so they probably wouldn't have a lot of plaque build up yet anyway but their vet called their teeth 'brilliant' after their last exam. So that's a win to me. I attribute their clean teeth to all the chewing they love to do. I also get the larger size femur bones too. They like those too.
The one negative thing about these type bones is that it is LOUD when they drop them on the floor. The sound echoes through the house on our hardwood floors but at least we have very durable floors otherwise we might have dents like crazy in them.
My dogs have both a toy box and a bone box so that they can pick out what they want to play with or chew on that day. When the bone box starts overflowing, I'll pick out a few of the older bones and throw them out into the backyard. We have a natural wooded area in the backyard where the dogs like to hide their bones. They have a blast with them out there too. I just hope no one looks too closely at our backyard where it looks like an uncovered animal graveyard or else I might look like a serial killer. Oh well! The things we do for our dogs!
I have found that these type bones and the yak cheese chews are the longest lasting chews for my dogs. I will use these as a mental and physical stimulator when I need the dogs to be kept occupied for a good long time period. I will even hide them somewhere in the house, then let them smell my hands so that they can get the scent for them to find. It's a game they love to play especially my lab who is so nose oriented. I plan to up the game eventually by burying a couple in the yard to see if they can find them. My dogs are smart so I have to keep a step or two ahead of them. ;) Overall, I like these bones but more importantly my dogs love them.

Impressive
As you can see, the thing is huge. Smells like bacon/pork rinds. My 25 lbs dachshund mix played no games with this. Now I will say, I did put it in the oven bc I was afraid of anything unsavory on it and I didn’t want her to get sick. I gave it to her as an after bath treat. Provided that she does not get sick, I think I will buy it again. So far I give it 4 stars, only bc it broke In half within the first 2 minutes. I wonder if it is bc I basically cooked it, but we will see…
