Editorial Reviews
Following on from the 40th Anniversary Deluxe version of the Ramones’ debut, comes the expanded edition of the original punks’ 2nd album – another 30 minute opus of buzzsaw rock. Released in January 1977, it featured a clutch of Ramones’ classics including ‘Swallow My Pride,’ ‘Pinhead,’ ‘Suzy is a Headbanger,’ ‘California Sun’ (a hit for the Rivieras in the 60s) and of course the controversial ‘Carbona Not Glue’. Produced by Tony Bongiovi and Tommy Ramone, ‘Leave Home’ also featured the engineering talents of Ed Stasium, who would go on to work with the band over numerous other releases, and is on hand to compile this 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the album.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2019Although not my favorite-favorite Ramones album -- that would be Road to Ruin -- Leave Home arguably has the most essential tracklist. And like the 2018 Road to Ruin remaster box, the limitations of the source materials are sometimes evident.
But also like RTR, the overall package -- the outtakes, extras, live tracks, and overall presentation -- are outstanding.
Just buy it, okay? You can Grubhub chicken vindaloo some other week.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2022Great packaging. The case was great and there were no dents.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2017My favorite Ramones album with TONS of tracks I've never heard before, this is a GREAT LP, a must for your collection. This set has many versions of this albums tracks, along with B-Sides and unreleased tracks. I've been playing these discs for days and this is an incredible collection. If you love the Ramones, you must add this to your collection ASAP
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2017Their second best album, IMHO - I prefer Too Tough To Die. Just as eponymous' album redux, this one also feels sonically cleaner but without sacrificing the original feel. This does have Carbona Not Glue instead of Sheena is a Punk Rocker, which my original album has. Again, lots of different versions of songs and also a live show on Disk 3.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2018In my opinion the first four Ramones albums are essential listening. A great addition to my collection.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2017The remix sounds great, as does the CBGB disc. great book as well!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Leave Home 40th Anniversary Vinyl

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice remastered package
This is of course a great album and now it gets the super deluxe treatment, the bonus is you get the vinyl and the CD as well as lots of extras most of which were available when this was remastered on CD years ago I purchased it and it had extra tracks, this has a lot more and is beautifully packaged worth the money.

It's funny how long it took me when I was a kid to find a copy of this album. Then even longer to find a copy with 'Carbona not glue'. It's great how time changes things. And to be honest, when I was a kid I had no idea what carbona was...lol. Anyway, this is an awesome series. I purchased the first album in this 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition series and I hope they keep releasing the rest!
