    I must admit, I pondered the idea of using a pulley and some cord to create my own system but am glad I didn't. This one worked straight out of the package and was quick and easy to set up and use. You will need some space to each side of the base -- I used a pantry door -- but other than that, it's unobtrusive and easy to use. So far, after a month plus of use, it's working as expected and quite helpful when it comes to stretching out and warming up an arm recovering from a badly broken bone. I'd certainly recommend this product to anyone thinking about usine it.

    This is just what I needed to stretch out my shoulder muscles. I use one very similar to this is physical therapy. It fits perfectly over my door and the pulley runs smoothly. I have a very limited range of motion in my arms and I find that little by little that is improving with the use of these pulleys. It stretches the arm that is up and the one that is down gets a stretch when I pull down to hoist the the other arm up I saw that some people apparently expected this to have resistance. It is not meant to and it doesn't have resistance. It works very well!

    This small pulley system is excellent for preserving range of motion while recovering from a shoulder injury. There is very little tension or resistance so you can start using it right away. The therapist at the hospital recommended my husband order this specific one (he sent the link) to supplement the therapy he's getting. I imagine that, as his shoulder heals, he will add weights and do other things, but this is an excellent starting-out tool that doesn't cause pain or damage and safely reinforces what the therapist is doing.
