I would absolutely recommend this replacement pump. I installed it myself in about an hour with zero experience aside from about 15min spent on YouTube watching it get done. (I'm a truck driver by trade).
I used this 1.5hp to replace my old 1hp hayward superpump (SP1607Z1M, model #C48K2N143B1) and it matched up perfectly. It's performing great as well.
The included seal kit is a great bonus and makes the whole job a cinch.
Tool list and tips:
-You'll need a 9/16" ratchet/wrench
-a slender or thin 7/16" wrench to slide in under or next to the capacitor to stop the shaft from spinning.
-a nut driver or straight head screwdriver to both remove the rear cap and do your electrical connections.
-and finally a 1/2" wrench or ratchet to smoothly change the voltage switch.
***With the ground screw on your right, I connected the black wire to the left and the white wire to the terminal to the right. (That puts the white wire between the black and ground) Their marked line 1 and line 2 so I had to work that out myself.
***Mine came set for 230volts so I needed to spin the voltage switch counter clockwise to 110/120. I actually forgot to do that Initially and the pump ran but very slowly and clicked occasionally. If yours does that.... your voltage switch is in the wrong spot or not fully turned.
******Lastly, a safety tip, be sure to turn your breaker off and test the lines for voltage and be sure to avoid the capacitor on your old unit as it could, and likely does, contain an electrical load. (my new replacement did not).
Conclusion: It really is an easy Install and with a few minutes watching YouTube, I would imagine most people can safely make this a successful DIY project.

An exact fit to replace my Hayward super pump. Easy to install and runs very quiet. My only gripe is the impeller was hard to install because of the V-shaped metal contacts covering the nut (as shown in the before and after pics). Other than that, highly recommend.
