Product Description

Janico mousetrap effectively catches mouse without baits. Mice trap features two dual locking systems, which holds the ramp securely in place while metal piece closes behind the mouse so there is no escape route. With the clear view window, it is easy to tell how many mice the trap caught. No winding or resetting required means there are no mechanical or springs components in the mice trap.

I have had several of the Tincats and these are the best! They cannot escape! It caught a total of 12 mice in 2 of these in one night in my chicken coop! I read one comment saying now what do I do with the live mice. Mice are full of disease and fleas. Let's just say I dont release them because they do find their way back home! I was tired of them getting into my hanging feeders and crapping in them leaving my chickens with nothing but mouse crap! It gets expensive. At least these traps will clean out allot of mice and I am ordering again. All I used is some chicken scratch and then the next morning I celebrated!! Nasty diseased creatures!! No more! And now I reset it for the afternoon!

Short version: The mouse got my bait twice without the trap catching it. The trap has since been recycled since it failed multiple times to catch the mouse. My recommendation is to not buy this trap.

    Long version:
Bought this trap for field mice as my house butts up against a farm field. We had signs of mice around our garage. I bought this trap to try and relocate the mice. Setting the trap was a breeze, loaded up the bait, sat it out and waited. After setting the trap I went out approximately 2 hours later and all my bait was gone, but no mouse. I looked at the trap and saw that one side of the trap had completely failed. The mechanism that controls the metal flap when the mouse tries to leave was completely seized. I bent the plate to effectively "disable" this side of the trap being used. I then verified that the other side of the trap was functioning as it should. I set the bait again and set the trap out overnight. In the morning I went back out. All the bait was gone, but still no mouse. This trap was then sent to my recycle bin as it failed twice to capture a mouse within a 24 hour period. I bought a more traditional mouse trap and within 8 hours I caught the mouse and was able to dispose of it. I looked at this trap as a safer solution as I have kids that like to play outside, and wanted to keep them safe. Unfortunately this was a bad purchase, didn't do what I was expecting, and gave the mouse free meals. The only plus side is that the mouse was expecting the bait when I bought a more traditional trap, which took care of it promptly. My advice is to stay away from this trap.

Had a lot of mouse traps over the years (we live in an rural area were get get visitors for the winter every few years or so). This is by far my favorite ever. Used it as a catch and release trap. Put a little peanut butter on the inside and caught 3 medium sized field mice the first night. Wasn't even sure we had mice so to catch 3 was very surprising. Shouldn't take long to catch their relatives ( if any).
Easy to see what is in the trap through clear cover. Easy to transport and just open the cover to let go. Easy rinse to be ready for reuse.

Apparently the word got out, that our garage was a great place for rodents far and wide, to nest in for winter. Unfortunately, word spread quickly, and we have uncle’s-brother’s-aunt’s-second husband’s-third cousin once removed and ALL their kin in between, taking up residence there. Ugh! I want them all gone yesterday, but don’t have the heart to use regular mousetraps...This trap is very easy to set up. It is definitely intended for rodents of the smaller persuasion, like our field mice, and not larger mice or rats. I highly recommend following the advice of other reviewers, who say to wear gloves during all contact with this trap. It made all the difference. I forgot to do that the first time, and our little invaders avoided the trap like the plague. After cleaning it, and removing the human scent from the equation, I quickly caught a single mouse. I haven’t been able to catch ‘multiple’ mice yet. I also have a metal spring loaded catch and release trap, and although such a pain to catch a single mouse at a time to drive far, FAR away, I have had better luck, catching 6 mice in one day.
This trap works, but for me, ‘multiple’ mice were never caught.

I’m impressed just how well this thing worked. I left a small pile of sunflower seeds inside as bait and caught THREE mice overnight! Apparently it was comfortable as well as effective. The mice didn’t want to leave, but after a few shakes they returned to the wild.

When box arrived with two traps they were loose in box with no padding. one of the door hinges seperated because the pin came out. the other trap the trap door came loose. my son with skinny fingers an a mechanical mind was able to fix them.
Also noticed there was difference in sensitivity of the trap doors, we were able to get them to work and they are doing fine. we ordered two because we had used these before and they worked fine. one so well it quit working because it filled up. dont know how many but it was a mess. Also if you put a glue trap inside you catch fewer but still a mess

I bought two of these had them for about a week put some seed in it nothing then put a little peanut butter in them and the next morning caught one. So I would definitely recommend them. Place them were you seen any mice hug the wall. It is true the mouse really didn’t want to Leave the trap. You don’t need any glue pads why kill a little mouse take it away from your house and let it go free. Easy to clean and added some more peanut butter not much needed just a dap. Don’t double dip for germ reasons. Mice goes in but can’t get out until you open the top so make sure to check it regularly look close too you might not see the mouse if it on the sides of the trap. I noticed the tail when I checked mine. Definitely one of the most humane ways to get mice out of your house...
