Editorial Reviews

Flying Microtonal Banana is King Gizzard's first-ever experience in microtonal tuning, which features intervals smaller than a semitone and not found in customary Western tuning octaves. Drummer Eric Moore explained, "We ended up giving everyone a budget of $200 to buy instruments and turn them microtonal." Gold foil stamp front cover, highlighter yellow vinyl, scratch and sniff product sticker, standard weight.

Isn't the vinyl supposed to be neon colored? Mine was black

Isn't the vinyl supposed to be neon colored? Mine was black
I thought this was supposed to be the neon version. I didn't know any of these came in black which made me suspicious. If anyone knows of a black version, please let me know so I can have some piece of mind that I didn't buy a counterfeit one :)

This the first of KGLW's three part "Explorations Into Microtonal Tuning". The other two parts are the albums K.G. and L.W. I love all three and can not recommend them enough to people like myself (a 73-year-od ex-hippie) who have wondered for quite a while now where all the good music went. A former Beatle-maniac, I think I've found a really GREAT group for the first time in many long years of constantly deteriorating pop music quality . Rejoice! Here's some fantastic music!!

If you know, you know - this is one of the very best Gizz albums. Please be aware however that this is the BLACK VINYL version with yellow highlights on cover, NOT the neon yellow vinyl with gold. It's not clear from the listing and the reviews show both variants, but the barcode listed here is correct. In response to a previous reviewer- YES this is a legit release, they've been pressing this variant since 2017 on the Heavenly label. check Discogs.

My kid likes this band. Loved the album. As advertised and had things i didn't expect. Several layers of cover art/sleeve art including lyrics. Packed with care.

The first few minutes of this album really had me concerned. That's because the first track, Rattlesnake, sounds far too much like Hot Water, which is another KG&LW track from an older album. I was scared that they had already begun cannibalizing their past work. They did however end up salvaging the track as the latter half is very different and takes the song along a different bath. Other than that, this album is just plain astounding. I can't stop listening to it. I hear this is the first of three albums they expect to release this year, so hopefully the next few are as interesting and intoxicating as this one.

Grande album experimental desta banda. O difícil é acompanhar a quantidade de álbuns lançados. Este álbum é excelente. Pra quem gosta de som experimental.
