Flame Genie Fire Pits
The Flame Genie Fire Pit is available in TWO models.
The Black Galvanized Steel model will show signs of finish fatigue after the initial fire. The high-temperature will burn-off any powder-coat finish.
The Stainless Steel model is easy to clean and will not rust.
Clean, Efficient Wood Pellet Fuel
The low moisture content of wood pellets results in a more efficient, cleaner burn than cord wood.
The easy to handle wood pellets leave you with less ash to clean up and unlike firewood, pellets can be transported across state lines.
Less Work. More Enjoyment.
Flame Genie's smoke-free and spark-free features make it the perfect backyard, stream-side, or wilderness fire pit companion for all outdoor enthusiasts.
Gravitational Afterburner
The unique gravitational afterburner system generates longer burn times without the smoke, sparks and clean-up associated with traditional wood fire pits.
Fueling Your Flame Genie
For the initial load, fill the inner burn chamber of your Flame Genie fire pit with premium hardwood pellets up to the bottom of the interior fill-line indicator holes.
To extend your Flame Genie burn time, periodically scatter additional pellets over the surface of the ignited Flame Genie while flames are still visible.
Lighting Your Flame Genie
After applying pellet gel or lighter fluid, carefully light the pellets in several locations. The fire will quickly build, providing near immediate enjoyment.
Storing Your Flame Genie
To ensure long lasting use, the black galvanized models should be stored in a dry environment to avoid rusting. The stainless steel models will not rust or discolor and can be left outdoors. The Flame Genie Tote doubles as a storage cover when your Flame Genie is not in use.
Transporting Your Flame Genie
Flame Genie base nests in the top for easy transport and compact storage. The Flame Genie durable canvas tote (sold separately) keeps residual ash contained during storage and packs your Flame Genie neatly for clean car, RV or trailer travel.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2019Size: 13.5" DiameterColor: BlackVerified PurchaseThis is amazing! I dont understand the one complaint about this having a learning curve or being difficult to maintain. I dumped in about 1 1/2 " of pellets, added a little lighter fluid, and in 3-4 minutes I had a great fire. I got a stick at about 20 minutes and cleared about and inch hole in the middle and put 3 pieces of left over cut wood from a weekend project that we're about 1" x 6" and that REALLY helped extend the fire thru the "nursing" period that everyone talks about. I got a ladel and sprinkled about a cup of pellets around the outer edge (think sprinkles on a cake) and this thing has been going great for an hour. The heat is intense. So much, I stepped away to write this review. Now it's sprinkling rain and the fire seems to be doing ok. The base is cool to the touch (see pictures) as my fire fighter husband questioned my logic of sticking it on the deck. I did that on purpose. So save your money and don't by the Solo, I mean stainless steel is nice, but I like to hang on to my money. I got the 12" genie and I believe it to be perfectly adequate for our camp trailer packing and for nights we want a fast fire to knock the chill off and enjoy a drink before bed and not have to waste precious water when dry camping to put it out a typical fire.
As a special note: PELLETS CAN CROSS STATE LINES AND INTO CANADA WITHOUT CUT WOOD RESTRICTIONS.
I also already know that this will be great with briquettes with a round grate for a little bbq, so the hibachi is going bye-bye.
Since starting this, we have been having a heavy rain for 2-3 munutes and it did finally put it out, but the pellets had burned down a good bit. I added two hand fulls and fanned it 30 seconds with a piece of cardboard and have a nice fire again. Yes, when it goes out like that it will smoke as the the pellets heat the smoke then flash over to ignite...all if these type stoves will do that.
So, between baking a cake and taking a few phone calls being interrupted writing this, it has burned for almost 90 minute with minimal effort. Also, with this fire, the paint seems to be curing well.
I look forward to hundreds of hours of use with this amazing genie!
Just go for it! This won't disappoint!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2016Size: 13.5" DiameterColor: BlackVerified PurchaseI decided to rewrite my review after giving this fire pit another try. This is a great little fire pit for it's size. Make sure there is no wind and you do not attempt to add more pellets while there is a flame. The best way to use it is to start it up (use about 3 Fatwood sticks to initially start) and then let it go until it burns out--approximately 40 minutes. You can then add more pellets and start the process over. If you don't set your expectations too high, the unit is really pretty cool! We were going to send it back but then decided to try using it again on a calm night without wind and allowed the pellets to burn without adding more and were pleasantly surprised at how well it worked! This was purchased with a gift card that was given to us so we had wanted to buy something fun that we might not otherwise have purchased and were glad we did! I would recommend this as a relatively safe way to have a small bonfire without the hassle of gathering wood and waiting long times for the fire to burn down. It does get VERY hot and there are some hot ashes that do drip down. We used a metal oil pan underneath to catch the ash and soot and occasional hot ember. DO NOT use this on a wood or composite deck!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2020Size: 13.5" DiameterColor: Stainless SteelVerified PurchaseIf you can read the 1 page instruction sheet you can use and enjoy this, but not in the instructions is the fact that the heat just goes straight up without some kind of diverter/heat deflector. Add one of those and it is almost as good as a propane heater. I took an 20hx28l" piece of galvanized flashing and set it up with a slight curve behind to direct the heat; this works pretty well, and not sure it's worth the effort at this stage to make it strictly parabolic, but that could be a fun math project with the kids. I poked two holes near the bottom corners of the sheet and threaded some baling wire through to hold the shape. Just be sure to leave about 2-4" of space between the diverter/deflector and the side of the stove allow air to circulate (it's a bit too close in the picture; I may update that soon).
Fuel is almost dirt cheap ($5-7 per 40 lbs bag at a local hardware store) and renewable. Don't try to get fancy with parrafin or wax-based firestarters; they will just burn up and fill the bottom tray with burned wax. Use firestarting gel (or >75% ethanol hand sanitizer in a pinch), spiraling from the center out. It works the best and you will have a roaring fire in about 10 minutes. Follow the instructions for adding more pellets and you can enjoy it all evening; if you add too many pellets at once and it gets smoky, add some more gel to the top and throw a lit match on it.
If you are a fire nerd, this is a TLUD (top-lit updraft) design, which means it works best if you light it from the top. That is why the gel works so well. TLUDs work by recirculating the carbon monoxide produced from burning the wood (which is highly flammable) and reigniting it like an afterburner, which is what helps keep it smokeless, but it also has to be very hot to work properly. You are basically making and burning charcoal at the same time.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2020Size: 13.5" DiameterColor: Stainless SteelVerified PurchaseI have to tell you that I wasn't expecting to enjoy this so much but I am. I used the recommended amount of hardwood pelts, added a bit of Sterno firestarter and I have had hot smokeless fire with a great flame in 5 minutes.
Portability is awesome. Adding more pellets every 20-30 minutes if is necessary if you want a longer fire (so is adding a log for those that have a reservation). You just need the learn a little technique for adding the pellets so it doesn't snuff out the fire and adding a little at a time seems to be the key.
Is it cheaper than firewood? No - but it's simple and very effective and that's what I'm looking for.
I suggest having a metal slotted spoon to add pellets. It's safer and easier to spread them to prevent smoking.
Lastly, cleanup is a breeze! Pellets leave such a small amount of ash.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for small urban setup
Size: 13.5" DiameterColor: BlackVerified PurchaseThis is great for my urban setup. I just got it today, working great on quite a blustery evening. No smoke or sparks, my neighbour's won't complain. Fire took about 30 minutes to get going, but i only used one zip firestarter cube. I also may of cut off some of the air flow with my setup, but my toddler wont topple directly into it now. Flame genie, please send me a flame enhancer so I can review it next. Happy with purchase. Takes a bit more than a week to receive it, as I assume they may be making them on demand and they have to clear customs to get up here eh.
