    I am a fan of the Alan Ritchson Reacher. I think he matches the Reacher of the book series, with his great muscular profile and action figure physique.
    Yet, Tom Cruise in this first on the screen Reacher surpasses the descriptions of the literary figure Reacher. He has a quiet zen presence in the midst of swirling chaotic evil. You wonder how it is that he is able to stand next to the glass window of an office. His inner radar is functioning, picking out clues around him. He senses where the danger is coming from. The important thing to know: he does not run away from it.
    Reacher is a heroic figure, in the Ritchson Amazon series and in the films that star Cruise. Lots of action. Rescues. Strategy. Courage.

    It was a little disjointed, but overall, an enjoyable movie. Pike gives an over-the-top performance that could have been pulled off better by a more skilled actress.     Lee Child wrote the Reacher character as a 6 foot 5 inch giant with blonde hair. Even though Tom Cruise is no more that 5'7", he pulled off the nature and persona of Reacher beautifully. You can see Lee Child in the film as the policeman sitting at the desk in the police station. He has no lines, just a shrug, but it was interesting to have him sitting because Lee Child is 6'5" or so and he would tower over Cruise.

    Many Reacher fans (nobody calls him Jack) were very upset in forums that a taller actor was not used for the part. I am sure that Lee Child was thrilled to get a top shelf actor like Tom Cruise to play the part. If he was played by someone like Howie Long (one of Lee Child's early preferences), there would not be enough star power. This makes it likely that there will be more films made with Tom Cruise having a recurring role in the movies as he gets older.

    The movie is very well done, keeping in mind that several characters were consolidated into one and a change in venue was made. The book "One Shot" did not take place in Pittsburgh PA and there were several characters that were left out to shorten the film duration. Even so, the film did a good job of telling the story and capturing the confidence of Reacher, that some would describe as arrogance.

    I am happy to have this movie on Blu-ray so that I can watch it again and again, just as I have read more than a dozen Reacher books multiple times. Lee Child is my favorite author. I look forward to more Jack Reacher movies with Mr. Cruise playing the lead role. I hope it has the same success as Albert Broccoli's James Bond series. It took 3 James Bond movies before it became a sensation. The same will happen with the Jack Reacher series to come.

    I knew nothing about the Jack Reacher books when I first saw Tom Cruise playing Reacher in the movie. I really enjoyed the movie and began to read the books by Lee Child on his creation Jack Reacher. After reading first Jack Reacher novel I was somewhat surprised Tom Cruise played the Reacher character in the film. This is not to say that Tom Cruise was not great in the role, but according to the author (Lee Child) Jack Reacher is a tall, big and strong individual. In any case, I found Cruise to be believable as the hard nose, tough ex-military investigator Jack Reacher.

    In this story a suspect of a brutal crime requests to get Jack Reacher. Needless to say, when Jack begins investigating the crime he is immediately targeted by a group who thinks they can intimidate him and stop him from sticking his nose into police business. The bad guys quickly learn that they have messed with the wrong guy as Reacher does what he does best. I love this guy's sense of justice and his warrior attitude.

    I liked this movie a lot and it is a good introduction to the Jack Reacher character. I can say that this movie made me begin reading more of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books.

    Tom Cruise may be a bit eccentric - but he is one of my favorite actors of all-time. I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie - but after watching it - I watched it again... and again - because I wanted to catch some of the things I missed earlier. I loved it - it was great. The interactions between Cruise and his co-stars Rosamund Pike and Robert Duvall were entertaining. The humor - the action - the music/score - the whole thing. The sniper scene with Jai Courtney sent chills up my spine - especially with the distant screams and everyone's initial reactions when the shooting began. It was very realistic. I highly recommend this movie... enough to watch it three times.

    bis...." World War Z " so ziemlich und manche Zweifel an diesem Typ fortfegte.
    JACK REACHER- der ehemalige Militärpolizist: " Es gibt Vier Arten von Menschen beim Militär-
    bei manchen liegt`s in der Familie. Dann gibt`s Idioten, die mit Hingabe dienen. Und es gibt welche,........

    ..............doch James Barr hat im Irak auch schon getötet, wurde aber damals
    für diese Tat nie angeklagt,- die US Armee vertuschte dies, da die Getöteten selbst
    schwere Verbrechen begingen.
    Und Jack Reacher warnte ihn- damals. Dass er im Wiederholungsfall zurückkommen
    würde, um ihn seiner gerechten Strafe zuzuführen......doch es gibt eine Wendung des Falles......

    Und haut jeden um, der es verdient hat.
    JACK REACHER ist ein amüsanter Krimi- Action- Kracher. Tom Cruise in der Rolle des
    scharfzüngigen, raffinierten Ermittlers. Der Bösewichten gehörig den Schädel durchpflügt,
    wobei teilweise auch kein Lacher ausbleibt.
    " Hee- vor die Tür! " - " Bezahl` erst mal. " - " Mach` ich hinterher! " - " Das wirst du nicht mehr können. "
    Der Film ist die reinste Wundertüte- mit einem verblüffend guten Handlungsstrang, der mich keineswegs
    enttäuschte. Die tatsächliche Auflösung der Hintergründe- unfassbar gut.
    Robert Duvall- nur kurz hier eingesetzt, aber brilliant.
    Und ja, Werner Herzog- sehr beeindruckend, wie ich finde.
    JACK REACHER - klasse Atmosphäre, super Darsteller. Gefält mir sehr.
