  • LOW-PROFILE DESIGN: Crafted with an asymmetrical deck plate, this tub drain will not interfere with a freestanding faucet rough-in. Easier installation in tight areas: install in an 8"/10" joist space with a 1-1/2"/2" P-trap or slab on grade construction.
  • BUILT TO LAST: The tub drain features a PVC body for durability. Enabling the freestanding tub location to be defined at rough-in (install before tiling), it allows for tub fitting over a finished floor (access below the fixture is not needed).
  • TESTABLE: Built with a snap-off test cap (rated to 30 psi), it enables water, air, and smoke testing. The bathtub drain has a 2" DWV hub connection, while the epoxy-coated, 18-gauge metal deck flange features holes to lock in thinset.
  • BATHTUB DRAIN KIT: The tub drain rough-in includes a flanged brass tailpiece, a PVC adapter kit (that helps attach to PVC bath wastes), a 2" x 1-1/2" PVC reducing bushing, a mortar/tile guard, an island drain assembly, and a cutting template.

INSTALLATION IN 3 EASY STEPS

FREESTANDING DRAIN CAST IRON

A. Cut a 5” (12.7 cm) hole into the wood sub-floor (use the supplied Cutout Template).

B. Affix to the subfloor with 5 screws (not supplied).

C. Connect the Drain assembly to the desired P-Trap below the floor.

FREESTANDING DRAIN CAST IRON

A. Install the flooring surface, leaving a 5” opening to access the Drain.

B. Affix the appropriate brass Tailpiece to the Waste and Overflow. Ensure the measurement between the base of the Drain and the P-Trap will accommodate the Tailpiece. Other lengths are also available from OS&B.

FREESTANDING DRAIN CAST IRON

A. Grip the center Tab with Channel Locks and rock back and forth till removed. Apply lubricant (supplied) to the Tailpiece.

B. Position the assembled Tub in-line with the Drain.

C. Carefully lower the Tub with the installed brass Tailpiece into the Red Collar Drain assembly. Ensure the Tailpiece is fully engaged with the Seal.

    As a professional plumber with 25 years experience I cannot wait until the freestanding tub fad ends. They're impractical, inefficient and just plain annoying. The only thing securing most of them to the floor is crap ton of caulk. Please stop using them!!

    That being said, as long as they're around, this is the drain I'll use. It installs easily, it's never failed me yet and I can test it on the rough-in. Other companies make some that look similar but almost always have test plugs that are broken.

    Please stop with the freestanding tubs!

    This kit was pretty pricey but if you are putting in a free standing tub this thing is amazing and so simple to use. Just figure out where your drain will be, cut a six inch round hole in the sub-floor and screw this to the sub-floor. Put in your flooring material (in my case, cement board and tile). Hook up your drain lines underneath and you are ready to install the tub. With one person helping, we attached the tub tailpiece, lifted the tub up and slid the tailpiece into the drain. The kit is funnel shaped so it guided the tailpiece and tub right in place. The beautiful thing is that if I ever need to take the tub out for any reason there is no reason to tear out the ceiling below to unhook anything, the tub just lifts right out and can be put right back in. Everything was included. The drain kit, solid brass tailpiece and all the connectors and adapters necessary to hook this to my PVC drain lines. I'd definitely buy this again and recommend it to anyone installing a freestanding tub.

    I bought this for a free standing tub on the second floor in a large shower area (6x9). After measuring the tub drain position and remeasuring I drilled the hole through the sub-floor and my min deck I made to sit the cast iron tub on. The time savings was just unreal. No more cutting ceiling drywall under the bathroom to plumb the ABS drain! Once the hole was cut and the pipe depth was cut I used ABS cement and secured this to the ABS. My only issue: since I installed a free standing tub finding a 6 inch escutcheon to cover the hole on the floor has been problematic. Other than that it saved me tons of time and effort! It still rates five stars!!! If anyone knows where to get a cover for this let me know.

    We had a customer who bought a fiberglass free standing tub. When we opened it, the tub came with flexible tube that connected to the tub. I did not want to depend on a slip compression joint to hold back any water. So I bought this hoping it would make my life easier. Install was easy. Breaking the tab to get to drain was a little nerve wracking. I had read a lot of reviews that said it broke off, couldn't remove, damaged gasket. I took my time. I used lineman pliers to get it out. I just went slow and wiggled for about 1 minute and it snapped right out. I did have a few little pieces aroind the edge that I thought could damage the gasket. I took my utility knife and just scraped those off. Put the included drain tail piece on the tub, put the plumbers grease on the pipe and slid the tub down. It worked great! Totally worth the money if you cannot access the plumbing from below. I will buy this again.
