Works well but not perfect. We had been using a different product similar to Tegaderm but hubby's skin is sensitive and we wanted to give this a try. These stay on but the edges start coming loose after just a day or two. The attached photo is after hubby took a shower so you can see the GrifGrip did hold even while wet but the edges are curling away from the skin. Overall a good product. It might stick better with SkinTac but I don't know if hubby's sensitive skin would not tear. Would suggest the product be modified just a bit to have the backing paper have a split in it like a Bandaid does so peeling the paper off to place the GrifGrip in the proper place is a bit easier. It is not a game changer but would make getting the paper backing off and placing the GrifGrip easier.

    This adhesive patch is super. I am a farmer and work outside in the heat and have difficulty keeping my Dexcom G5 sensor affixed to the skin as well as my insulin pump patch. The adhesive patch is made for the G5, but works well for the insulin patch as well. I am able to keep both my apparatuses in place until it is time to change the sites.

    I usually wear my G-5 sensor for several days until the backer is just starting to come loose. At that point, I apply the GrifGrip over the top. When the sensor expires after one week, I just tell the receiver I've mounted a new sensor and get two weeks of use from the sensor. After the two weeks is up, it all comes off. The GrifGrip is still holding well at that point. I'm not someone who showers every day unless necessary. That likely helps with retention.

    Applying the patch is a bit tricky. Getting the paper backer off can be difficult. I peel half off and fold it back. You can then fit it over the sensor and stick down the top half with no wrinkles. Now remove the rest of the backer and do the bottom half.

    Anyone that has a CGM and can't get the adhesive to stick for the duration I would recommend this product! I am very active and live in South Florida so it is always hot and humid which makes my CGM adhesive only last 3 days.     I have tried a number of things to keep my Dexcom in place. These worked pretty well, here are the pros and cons in my opinion:

    Pros:
    - Stays on well once in place. It will eventually start to peel, but any similar product will do that.
    - Comfortable. You hardly notice it's there except if it itches (see below)
    Cons:
    - Very difficult to apply. The backing is terribly difficult to remove and once you get it the patch is very flimsy and gets stuck to itself and to your fingers. I'm a coordinated person but found it very difficult to apply to myself without ruining.
    - stays wet after showering as opposed to products like Tegaderm, which is just a little annoying until it dries.
    - Although it was comfortable, it seemed to get itchy quicker than the Tegaderm or Opsite Flexifix transparent film style products.

    Overall it's a good product, if only it were easier to apply. If you prefer the Tegaderm style dressing (as I do), I recommend DexTape, found at dextape.com

    After trying many different ways to secure the Dexcom transmitter, and having nothing that lasted until it was time for a new sensor, being skeptical that this too would not work, and a bit concerned about the price, I ordered it anyway. I am very glad that I did. This works. It stays in place for the duration. Once in awhile the edge may peel up just a bit in one or two spots after a week or so, but a small amount of Tac-Away adhesive solves that. Even though this product adheres so well, it is not difficult nor painful to remove. The pre-cut hole fits the Dexcom unit perfectly, and it is fairly easy to put on, especially because there is a little bit of stretch to it. It works so much better than anything else I have tried that I will be a repeat customer. Because the GrifGrips last for an entire Dexcom session, one package lasts quite awhile, so the price seems more reasonable than I first thought--and no need to be buying a lot of tape to re-secure, so there is a savings there.

    I purchased these at the suggestion of another diabetic, who claimed they were highly sticky and stayed on during the summer months. Unfortunately, mine rarely last more than a few hours before they’re peeling and bubbling. The paper backing is impossible to remove, which makes the tape fold on itself prior to adhesion. They’re poorly designed.

    Patches are great for use with Dexcom sensors so that the sensor doesn't move or get disconnected when sweating or taking a shower. I use an adhesive wipe before applying the patch to make sure the patch stays connected for the full week. Be sure not to let the patch stick to itself when applying it.
