Jon Haws RN, Alumnus CCRN
I Help Nursing Students Succeed. Period.
"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle."
-- Steve Jobs
I am happy to say that I DIDN'T settle. Nursing is my calling and helping you along in your nursing career is my goal!
My name is Jon Haws RN, Alumnus CCRN. I am an ICU charge nurse at a Level I Trauma hospital in Dallas, TX. I attended a second degree BSN program where I graduated with Summa Cum Laude. I obtained my CCRN advanced certification (critical care registered nurse) in 2014 joining the ranks of just 1.7% of all registered nurses that hold this certification. Professionally, I precept new nursing graduates and students and aid them in the transition to new nurse. I have a passion for teaching and nursing and my goal is to create a generation of highly skilled and educated nurses.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2015Excellent resource. This book makes the reader be able to voice the knowledge they have. "If you can teach it, you know it" is a true statement, so if you can explain the subject by answering the questions, you know it. This book is clearly written, provides thorough rationales, and would most certainly be a superlative addition to your study tools.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2020Very helpful in thinking through the nursing process and identifying next steps as well as what the nurse would do. I would recommend for nursing students or instructors looking for case studies with rationales.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2018Kindle edition works well. Will probably customize across the semester to advance as student knowledge advances especially with incorporating additional medications.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2015Great for review or to make sure you are on the right track of "thinking like a nurse". Helpful to review for class, nclex, or even interviews since some of them require you to think through a case study or two. Good to get in the habit of thinking this way! Helpful info and no problems with download or transfer- used on tablet and phone.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2016The case studies were alright but not what I was really looking for as an instructor

Very helpful summary of med and surg nursing case studies in the hospital environment. However, it would be nicer if they do include a few labs test results for each case study. I will continues to support this book :)
