I paid for and downloaded this app for my daughter on her kids kindle fire and it doesn't work. She loved the free time on the app and is very disappointed that it won't work now. It tells me that I don't have the rights to use it.
My son had never watched Daniel Tiger before this game. I downloaded this bc it was in a magazine for top educational apps for kids his age. I love this app for him. He’s 2.5 & it teaches about feelings. I’ve seen him playing a game where it’s encouraging you to help Daniel tiger try new foods. This app is very positive & is a great tool for your kiddos.
Ever since I purchase the 'Daniel Tiger's Grr-ific Feelings' I have been trying to download and install it on my account for a few days now. Every time the app finishes downloading I receive a notification saying "Install Failed" "Tap To View". I tap to view but receive no confirmation to why the app is failing to install. I have ran a software update, systems update, sync device, Run Repair Tool, cleared out unnecessary app to make more room and restarted the device. I still keeps failing when I'm downloading from the Tablet and Delivering from Amazon Website to my Tablet. I was really frustrated and unsatisfied with this purchase until I took out the SD Card from my Tablet Fire. I went onto my daughters user account which has FreeTime Unlimited. Looks like she had already downloaded it on her user account. I have all her Downloads going into the SD Card. Once the SD Card was removed I tried Downloading the Daniel Tiger Grr-ific Feelings on my account and it Installed Successfully. I tested it out and it works great. Apparently my daughter loves it because she had a lot of data and cache on that game from her user side. I hope Amazon will correct this issue with their Tablet Features or from the tech side.
Good, but is far from stable. The lack of stability is similar to more complicated apps that require internet connections, but hang when the app fails to report in properly. A kid running into the WiFi dead zone wouldn't be unheard of given the apps target audiance. If I had evidence this was DRM of some kind it would get a Zero, but I suspect this is someones inept attempt at monitoring the app usage otherwise there is no need for it to have permission to network sockets. I'm tempted to kill the network connection to see if the problem persists, but that would be a temporary stop gap. It's far more stable then trying to get the PBSKids website running though a Tablet Browser, and this is only needed to stop a child from asking to use a desktop to play a 'Daniel Tiger Game'.
This would be a 5 star game if it wasn't prone to locking up.
UPDATE: As of 6/25/2015, the app plays videos correctly on our updated devices. I have increased my rating accordingly.
My 2-year-old loves Daniel Tiger, so I didn't hesitate to grab this app. However, I tried to run this app on a Google Nexus 5 running Android 5.0 (Lollipop), but the videos will not play. You can hear the song, but the video player just shows a black screen.
A major feature being broken for a popular device is unacceptable, especially from a group like PBS KIDS.
