Nice feeding puzzle
5 out of 5 stars
Nice feeding puzzle
5 stars because my dog loves this thing.I usually fill it with kibble and close it with the small topple and he’ll be occupied for a while. Warning- there will be kibble everywhere. To make the kibble come out slower, I block one of the holes with a biscuit. When I use any kind of wet food, the last bites always get stuck on the bottom because he can’t properly reach it, but this also happens with the smaller size topple. I also wished there was a plug to closes the side opening to contain wet food better. Also, your floors need to be spotless because otherwise, everything will stick to the topple- crumbs, hair, lint.Overall, this is a fun feeding option, it’s sturdy and seems very durable. The blue topple stained terribly from pumpkin puree but oh well.

    Durability that Endures:
This isn't just another chew toy that surrenders to your dog's jaws within minutes. Crafted for moderate chewers, it has withstood the relentless gnawing of my furry friend, a testament to its robust build. Its resilience not only preserves the toy but also protects my furniture from becoming an unintended chew target.

    Interactive Playtime, Elevated:
The genius of this toy lies in its interactive design. Hiding treats inside turns it into a delightful puzzle that captivates my dog for hours. It's like a treasure hunt for his taste buds, ensuring both mental stimulation and a satisfying chew experience.

    Mental Workout for Your Pooch:
The mental stimulation aspect is a standout. Available in two interlocking sizes, the puzzle ups the ante on difficulty, challenging my dog to think, twist, and turn. It's akin to a doggy IQ test, keeping his mind sharp and engaged.

    Ergonomically Designed for Furry Paws:
The thoughtfully designed interlocking rings are a stroke of genius. They're easy for my dog to maneuver around while the inner ‘teeth’ keep treats securely in place, adding an extra layer of challenge. It's fascinating to watch him strategize his way to the treats.

    Safe, Non-Toxic, and Easy Maintenance:
Safety is a priority, and West Paw delivers. Knowing the toy is FDA-compliant and non-toxic gives me peace of mind. Plus, it's a breeze to clean – a run through the dishwasher, and it's as good as new. The recyclable aspect is a bonus, aligning with my eco-friendly preferences.

    Final Verdict:
The West Paw Puzzle Chew Toy is more than just a chew toy; it's a mental gymnastics course for your dog. Its durability, interactive nature, and safety features set it apart in a sea of canine toys. It's not just a purchase; it's an investment in your dog's mental health and your furniture's longevity. This is a great toy for my intense chewer puppy. I can stuff this with treats or smear some peanut butter in here and it keeps her busy for quite a while. She also likes the rubber to chew on after all the treats are eaten or licked out of the toy - it seems to feel good on her teeth that are trying to come through. The rubber is durable enough that it's withstood a lot of chewing after the treats are gone.

My dogs get frustrated because they can’t get to the bottom of a stuffed kong, so they love that they can reach into this.

My “big” dogs are 45 and 55lbs and the large is a perfect size for them. The large fits about 3/4c of my dogs kibble and works comparable to a slow feeder for her. She can still scarf it down but slower than in a bowl. I wouldn’t recommend it solely for a kibble feeder but it’s a nice side use. The other dog is on a diet and always looking for food so this lets him feel like he’s eating more than he really is since it takes him 40 mins to eat some green beans or kibble mashed and frozen in.

When I mix it w peanut butter or let the kibble soak and expand but don’t freeze it, it takes longer but it it’s not extremely difficult. Maybe 10-20 mins? They both still love it though.

When I pack it and freeze it (either w peanut butter, a mix of kibble and liquids left to soak first, or like today just kibble and green beans in water) it takes quite a while.

My old man hound took 45 minutes to lick through a frozen cup the other day. My GSD pup is quicker but it still takes her a good 30 mins of entertainment.

I’m looking forward to giving these frozen cups as a cool off treat after walks in the summer when it’s over 100°. They’re like pupcicles, but cheaper in the long run!

I also like that I can use it for mental stimulation while we hunker down over the 110+ days without a lot of outside exercise. Even at night it’s too hot to run more than 10-15 mins so this will be a great help to keeping them engaged. The pup has so much energy. So much.

Neither have tried to chew it yet and it’s held up well so far (only a few weeks). I do wish the company made a plug, but I was able to find a cork that fit snuggly so I can freeze it without leaking.

I ordered two more. A small for my other dog - a shiba - (It’s a little disappointing small, but a large is too big. I would love a medium size!) and another large so both the big dogs can have one at the same time. The kong is getting mostly retired.

Even if you have 1 dog, I think I would recommend getting two of these so you can rotate them in and out of the freezer without having to wait for them to freeze.

I got the biggest size for my super high energy dog to give him some more mental enrichment at home. We have done so many different “recipes” for this toy and every single one has been a hit! The toy is highly durable and shows no sign of wear despite my dog going to town on his toy every day (sometimes multiple times a day). We freeze ours and it gives my pup something to focus on for 25-45 minutes at a time. It’s great for cognitive enrichment! My dog wears himself out when playing with it.

My only con is that I’ve had the toy less than a month and it is showing discoloration on the top. I have never put it on the dishwasher, only hand washed, so I’m not sure why my blue Toppl is turning a bit yellowish on the base of the toy. Despite the aesthetic changes, my pup is obsessed!!

I have a husky/Sheppard mix. He has never been able to rip pieces off. This is a great stimulating toy. He's 3 and we've had it since he was a puppy. We used to freeze soaked kibble in it, now it's just used as a great toy.
Side note. My brothers pitty mix was able to get some pieces off, but her jaw is insane.

Love this product - and so does our dog :) He's always struggled to get much out of a Kong, so we don't really bother with it anymore. (he's a 4 year old, 70 lb Coonhound/Shepherd mix). He would leave too much food inside, and it was a bit of a pain to clean. Then, I saw the Toppl! The best part is the open-ended design, it's so much easier for him to actually get the food out. So far, we've filled it with a mix of rice, chicken and crushed up kibble with some water to make a paste, then filled the toppl and popped it in the freezer. It's great for him to busy himself on a hot day, and it holds a bit more than what he would normally eat as a meal (we got a Large size). Perfect! He likes to play with it a little too, once it's empty.
It's easy to clean, and seems to be pretty durable. Also love that it can be recycled once we are done with it! Would highly recommend.
