    Very happy with the install. And what’s most important is that this brand has been threaded after painting. Other brands put threads in first then paint, and you end up either tapping and refreshing the threads to remove the paint or wrestling with the screwdriver and hoping you won’t strip the threads when you mount your equipment in the rack.

    These are mostly great. There are a few holes that aren't spaced evenly, but more importantly, I am using these for network gear, not audio gear. The smaller than standard threads make these a bit of a pain as the holes on the tabs for my devices are too big for the heads on standard 10-32 machine screws. I ended up having to buy a separate box of washers, which isn't a HUGE deal, but if they used the more common 12-24 machine screw threads, they would have been 5 stars in my book. Overall, for the price, these are great and did the job. Can't really complain.

    buy some decent screws 10/32... One thing worth mentioning, and I've seen this before... Some rack rails are MORE sensitive to the screw alignment than others... you really need to use a screw driver and ditch the cordless drill, these rails are a couple degrees past a 90 degree bend, all that means is the screws angle very slightly out towards the sides, if you go at it with a cordless, your asking for trouble... really need to feel what your doing when putting screws in these rails...

    I bought these instead of the "name brand" rails I normally would order just to see how they compared for this project... opened the box and was pleased with the overall quality of the rails and thought I may have stumbled upon a new product that could save me a few bucks on future projects. The first problem I encountered was with the mounting holes, the large diameter hole was just shy of the 5/16" diameter I am accustomed to... no big deal grabbed a couple tools and modified the rails to meet my "standard". After installing the rails in the rack I moved on to installing the gear and found that NONE of the holes had been tapped, so after a trip to the hardware store I'm now the proud owner of at 10-32 tap.     I have had to drill out 2 screws while installing equipment into these racks. This could be a much better made product. Now that everything is properly mounted I hope not mess with it again for a long time. Monoprice 10/32 screws seemed to work the best out of the different piles of screws I had laying around from work.

    ALL rack rails come from the factory with paint (powder coating, actually) caked in the threads; it's just the way it is. Some rails are worse than others. You CAN potentially strip the threads in the rail but you basically have to cross-thread a screw to do this. Before mounting equipment, take a screw and run it through each hole you intend on using. Start it by hand, then use a screwdriver. A little resistance is normal. If you have to turn it with all your might, you've cross-threaded it.

    These rails are made to close, industry-standard tolerances and they do exactly what they are intended to do.

    At least half of the holes are not tapped properly, so when you go to screw your equipment, be prepared to strip some screws as you try to force them in with a screw gun (or tap them properly ahead of time if you have the tools). Not as advertised. Also, the middle holes (which you wouldn't normally use, the ones between the top and bottom of the rack ear) don't line up. This means that if you want to leave half a rack space gap between some gear (as opposed to a full space) you won't be able to. Very frustrating piece of hardware. I kept mine and managed to make it work in a non-ideal way because of time restrictions. Can't recommend, though.
