    Paul Hogan is the most famous Australian, and Crocodile Dundee is the most famous australian movie.

    With this set you get the Amazing first film, and the not so good sequel. I was so excited to get the first film on Blu-Ray, that I didn't even really care that Crocodile Dundee II came with it. To me that is just a bonus feature.

    Crocodile Dundee is a fish out of water story about a New York News Reporter who travels to the Australian Outback to interview the legendary Dundee who supposedly almost died fighting a crocodile. She is so impressed by him, that he is invited to New York and experiences what life is like in the big city.

    Paul Hogan won the Golden Globe for his portrayal of Dundee and he also wrote the screenplay, which was nominated for an academy award. This film went on to become the 2nd highest box office release of 1986. That year, only Top Gun made more money than this film.

    It's not often that you get two great movies put together in one box but they definitely get the consumer appeal award with this one. Sometimes though, when there is a great movie put out on Blu-ray, and it has a sequel, they will only release the first film first, and hope to sell a few hundred thousand copies, but then they will release it as a double film release later to re-sell the first film again, concluding that you would have been double-dipped. They did that with "Airplane", then doubled it up with "Airplane II: The Sequel", and also with "Every Which way But Loose", and then later doubled up that one with "Any Which Way You Can" that was not released individually. And, of course, there are more.

    Anyway, I was worried that people would forget about the great "Crocodile Dundee" series because the first two films were fabulous. Who knows, they may release it as a triple pack with the much later released "Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles" but I don't think I'd bother to buy that one.

    I love the music too in the two first "Crocodile Dundee" films. I may have to look for the soundtrack.

    Upgraded to blu ray from my australian dvd versions (which had a very dirty cinema like print). They have not been remastered, but still better quality than the DVDs. Would have been nice to include the 3rd movie as well in this set but being from another distributer it's not surprising it's not here (the dvd of crocodile dundee in Los Angeles is fine anyway).
    Great Aussie flicks that took Australia to the world. Pity about the lack of extras (we get a brief featurette on crocodile dundee II and that's it), but these are the best releases of the films we've got for now, so snap up if your a fan.
