I've been using Total Commander since 1995 when it was called Win Commander, which is a better Norton Commander-if you know any computer history and data control applications.

This is a top of the line Data and file manager. On my computer I use nothing else. I can see all files, applications (today it's called Apps - LOL). I can control any aspect of a computer with this app any file, any program. I can easily clean the crap with no effort... as long as you know what you are seeing.

As anything else in computer land you have to understand the file structure, what files do and where they belong to use this app properly.
But, it is Absolutely wonderful if you take the time to learn your device and file structure. You will be in Total Command of the device or computer period, no exceptions.

BEWARE: if you don't know what you are doing with this program you will and can delete the whole operating system and everything in it in 5 seconds. No Joke. Take heed or eat the consequences. Christian Ghisler, the developer from Switzerland won't be there to fix you device.

I bought this application One time in 1995 and still receive free updates to this day. That was truly the Golden Years of Computers even though computers were very clunky compared to today's incredible beasts whether it be a computer or tablet or phone, and... it's only going to get better.

I have often wished Christian Ghisler would develop Total Commander for UNIX. That would be the best. You need to know everything starts and comes from UNIX first

I'm on life's glide path, and wanted something like the old XTree DOS program, only for Andoid and Kindle. This is really close in ease of use and functionality. The interface is a decent compromise for small screens, and you can move or rename files without struggle. I'm deleting my other file manager. Awesome!

I have been using the PC version for over 30 years and must say they dropped the ball on the version for the Amazon Fire Stick. The interface is poor, it is not easy to use and frankly, I was very disappointed, so I uninstalled it in favor of a better file manager. Stay away from this app.

This is a two-paned Windows Explorer that is what Windows Explorer should have been but never was; with easy zip capabilities, brilliant network access and a whole host of other file utilities built in. I use a paid-for PC version on my Desktop every day and would not like to be without it. But Android is not Windows and it shows. This ap works well enough on Android when it works, but can be unstable, especially when using samba to browse the network. It can take ages to connect and often locks up altogether. On the Kindle it is still incomplete and is short of what I consider to be essential network plugins. So I would wait a little while until it is complete and perhaps a bit more stable.

So far, this has been the best file manager that I've found for my Fire Stick. I only use it to view USB flash-drive files, which it displays via other apps. Since VLC is great for videos, and X-plore is ideal for images, I simply use this to access both media players in one place.

My lone issue with it is that files can only be accessed via lists. I definitely prefer a grid view over a list view, so I think it'd be great if that was an option, but this is definitely a nice tool.

I wanted to delete some unwanted files on my FireTV Cube. I found this app to be the easiest to use for that purpose. I did look at a couple of other file management apps but none were as simple as Total Commander.

Total Commander is an Orthodox File Manager (OFM) for Windows, Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Android, and Windows Phone. Some features include a built-in FTP client, tabbed interface, file compare, archive file navigation, and a versatile multi-rename tool with regular expression support.
This application is written by the Swiss Christian Ghisler in Delphi 2[12] (32-bit version) and Delphi 1 (16-bit version). The program is extensible by programmers via an open plugin-API and it has the ability to bind external programs for viewing or editing files. Many plugins are freely available for e.g. different packer formats or file viewer for special file formats. As well, a large variety of internal functions (commands) are available and ready to assign to icons, although some study might be needed to discover them.
Additionally, Total Commander can be made portable via a special installer for USB and U3 disks.[13]
The Windows version is shareware: users can download it for free and use indefinitely, but should register or delete it within 30 days. The unregistered version reminds the user to register every time it starts, but it retains full functionality even after the 30-day trial period.
The program is available in 16-, 32-, and 64-bit versions for the various versions of Windows, and is for the most part compatible with Linux using Wine[14] or directly in Android (where can use USB-OTG).

I have this on EVERY PC I own and I own 6 PC's and 2 Laptops and 1 tablet... THIS is an ESSENTIAL tool...

I would be lost if I couldn't find this utility for my PC's or tablets. It has so many (over 100) accessories and add on utilities that are available for this, that it is almost endless. I would be absolutely lost if I couldn't find this utility. Nothing I've used in place of this, has matched it's usefulness...

Believe me, once you use this utility, you'll feel the same way I do...

    Thanks and take care...
