I've tested the app on my own as my daughter is too small for learning numbers, although she was very interested in the nice colors and music.

This application is way too simple. It should include much more numbers to it to be effective and useful to children.

The free version is just numbers 1 to 5. You have to buy the full game. This is a pre school and pre k app. Very nice game play for the little one and easy to use for pre school and pre k. I give it only 3 stars because the free version is so short compared to other free apps.

The free version only offers numbers 1-3 before you are prompted to buy the full version (at a very reasonable price) to access more numbers/features. This is a great app for young children 2-4, perhaps in Pre-K if you are interested in jump starting their number writing. I found it helpful for my six year old in Kindergarten who is having a little difficulty writing his numbers in the correct direction. The colors and sound are eye-catching and probably even more so for a young child. Offering the "reward" of cathcing the fireflies is cute since we know that reward is always interesting and fun for a young child. I also like that there is a parent mode so you can keep track of progress. At the end of the day, the free app isn't much but gives you a limited idea as to what you can expect if you are willing to pay the small price for the full version. I think Kids Academy did well with this one. The only reason I give four stars and not five is because I think the free app offer just a bit more.

The free version only gives you numbers 1-3. When we got to three my daughter wanted to keep going, so I bought the "full version" for $1.99, which gives you numbers 1-10. The program is really sensitive, and won't "accept" the child's tracing of the number if their finger skips, which is frustrating for my daughter. It also only lets her start at 1 and go through #10; it would be nice if the program had the option to choose the number, or to run from 1-10. It is a fairly irritating game to listen to as a parent, too, because the only feedback or talking the game does is to alternate between saying "excellent!" and "you rock!" when the number is done correctly, and between "it's easy...let's try again" and "oops, one more time" if it isn't completed correctly (or if their finger skips). I thought maybe there would be more to the game, especially since it cost $1.99. I think for the level of functionality, the full version should be free.

My daughter enjoys this app so much, It is so much fun to see the numbers light up when you trace them the correct way and collect all of the fun fireflies in the jar. There is an automated voice that gives you instructions in case you get stuck. There is even a place where your child can make their own profile. Parents can see how far their child is progressing and what areas your child may need to work on. I highly recommend it. My child has special needs and it works wonders for her. She actually enjoys the learning aspect now.

Not the best 'free' app. After taking an agent install my child was only able to trace the numbers 1 - 3 or watch the letters A - C (and these were given the alphabet sounds, not phonics). After that you are asked to pay. This is not a free app. It's a very short free taster of an app you have to buy. I uninstalled it.
