Learn22 develops apps of a high quality that I have grown to expect excellence from. Animated Puzzle Kingdom is no exception, and it is their most kid-friendly app to date. I say this because of the intuitive, simple menus and activities that are designed to promote motor skills. Children can easily play through this app on their own, and that will be a definite bonus for those looking to add some entertainment value. The educational activities are backed by professional methods as well, and the entire app is nicely polished. I always enjoy the professional voice acting and superb illustrations offered in 22Learn apps. This one is definitely no exception!

The menu has a storybook theme, and users slide a button across the screen to navigate to the activities-similar to turning a page of a book. Settings allow the user to easily toggle sound and music, which is great when using the app in a quiet place. The activity menu is very simple to use as well and has no extra buttons. The eight activities provide plenty of fun and educational enjoyment for children. The professional illustrations and cute animations are reminiscent of popular children's cartoons and are sure to delight.

Several puzzles involve shape recognition activities. Farm and zoo animals, for example, has you drag a cute animal cartoon to its appropriate slot. The user is rewarded with a fun animation and sound effects. The animals are very visually appealing and young children will thoroughly enjoy watching the animations again and again. Similarly, the two vehicle activities include different vehicles you can drag to their slots. Tapping the completed puzzle pieces again allows you to view the animations and hear the fun sound effects as much as you'd like. The professional voice effects and cheerful sounds are a real treat and make this app a higher quality.

Other puzzles work with shape recognition and motor skills as well, but there are some mini-activities players can complete. For example, players can build a xylophone and then play around on it by tapping different sections. You can also build popsicles and watch flowers grow in pots. It's a great way to learn a little about where plants come from and how they need water to grow. This app has a lot of possibilities for parents who wish to get involved in their child's play and take learning a bit further.

The app runs smoothly on my device and I have encountered no glitches. Young hands can easily grab and drag objects. Navigating the app is extremely child friendly, and parents shouldn't have to assist their children at all which makes it a great entertaining activity when you're on the go. I love the look and feel of this app, and I'm certain young learners will enjoy it and benefit from these educational activities.

I believe it is doing it because it is using the Adobe AIR library. However, in the interest of full disclosure and since this is a children's app, I think parents should know that the app is doing this. The reason for it may be entirely benign but I think you will agree that a children's app should not be tracking your location, especially a full version app. It's a shame too as it appears to be a very good app. But until we know why it is behaving this way I have to rate it at only three stars as an alert. If the developer explained this behavior I will change my review accordingly.

However, I felt it necessary to warn parents that this is happening.

The tool that I used to see this behavior in this case is a program called Xprivacy and it needs a rooted device to work.

I purchased Animated Puzzle Games 1 after we downloaded and played with the free version of this app. My child and his friend really enjoyed the free version. My three year old son really liked the interactive xylophone and his friend of the same age enjoyed the farm animal puzzle part of the game. She found the puppy animation to be adorable, and they spent a while imitating the voice-over of the smiling sun. It was very funny for the adults in the room. I didn’t have to explain or help them to use this application at all, which was perfect because it gave me the chance to have adult conversation with his friends’ mother. The application kept them engaged without the need for adult assistance. The menu is very simple and the children seemed to intuitively understand that just by sliding the button they would be able to navigate the Kingdom of Animated Puzzles. (A super cute name in my opinion) The game has bright colors, sound effects and a soundtrack that will delight your small children and it teaches spatial recognition with simple puzzles. Once a puzzle is completed the game rewards with animation for your child to enjoy. This was a good app for the two children to play together.

After I downloaded the full application and they were thrilled. There were several more puzzles, each one with reward animation or a simple game upon completion. They adored the zoo animals and both of the flower puzzles, and had a lively discussion about different types of vehicles after playing the second vehicle puzzle.

All of the apps from 22learn that I have downloaded for my child have been excellent. It is unusual in free apps for there to be such quality in animation and sound, and I have found that all of the apps made by this company have more than exceeded my expectations.

This is a decent game, but the low quality prevents it from being enjoyable. Although there is a settings menu to turn off the music and sound, it does not work because the sound effects still play, and what's worse, they get stuck in a repeat so all you hear is the police car or the airplane. It is unbearable after about two minutes. Also, the games freeze up, which is very frustrating for a toddler. I would expect these problems from a free app, but not one I spent money on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfetta per tenere tranquilli i bambini!
