COVERS by the amazing Norah Jones is a collection including some live recordings, some songs from Deluxe Editions, DVD's, others' albums, and previously unreleased work. So much good stuff it's impossible to pick favorites. I've heard her do several versions of Wilco's Jesus, Etc. , and just now listening it's so hauntingly beautiful you can see the skyscrapers moving. Never heard them do it, so her interpretation's the only one I know, in other words, she sort of " owns" these tunes with her graceful use of her god given voice to share this wonderful music with us. Writers from Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Gram Parsons, Tom Waits are some of the names included - Jazz's Horace Silver - Don Gibson's Sweet Dreams, a Patsy Cline hit, but her version, like Fats Domino's My Blue Heaven , are just pure Norah Jones. So with graduations, weddings, birthdays, coming your way, make sure you give the Norah Jones fans in your life a copy of COVERS. Song details including credit to all the incredible musicians are listed for each song, and while her next studio album -sure to feature her "poetry set to music" - is due before the year's over, COVERS might be able to tide you over till then. ( These songs are from her first decade of recording - I've seen some recent photo's - so she must have started mighty early as she can't be more than 27 today )

Why do these wonderful collections get such limited releases? Great songs covered with that style that's is Norah Jones. The price tag might place it out of the reach of some folks, but Amazon.uk may be a better place to look, and cost and postage may make it look like a steal.

Being a sucker for both Norah Jones and cover tune discs, this purchase was something a no-brainer. It arrived ahead of schedule and shrink-wrapped new, as promised. The cd cover is a bit on the cheesy side, and while the track list is definitely enjoyable and impressive, the running time comes up kind of short. The old cliché goes "less is more," but in this case, at least, less leaves you wanting more. And I guess that could be construed as a good thing.

Amazing covers done by Ms Jones in her own soft style. If you like Norah Jones, you will love this CD. If you've never tried her music before this is a good album since it consists of songs that were chart toppers in their day.

Norah Jones knocks it out of the park when she does country. The Johnny Cash song Cry, Cry, Cry is worth the price of the CD.

This is a fun collection of tunes. Norah does her thing, and delivers the goods. The songs work pretty well with her arrangements, overall the album is quite listenable. Is it as good as Norah doing her own material? No, of course not. But I have it on around the house when I am home fairly frequently and I haven't come close to tiring of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Einfach fantastisch!!!

„Picture in a frame“ ist einfach klasse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Im Afraid

I recently got my hands on a copy of this via Amazon in perfect brand new packaging then I started worrying when there was a red and white label saying "A collection of 10 rare and unreleased interpretations of classic songs from some of Norah's favourite artists. Offer vaild while supplies last"

I searched Amazon again and there are not many options to get your hands on one there is one with a list price of £65ish. Amazon are selling (although out of stock) for £25 or so, that is still pricey so I hope its worth the money. My dilemma comes in if I should keep it in mint condition and never listen to it wait for a MP3 downloadable version from Amazon which I hope they do! This is so tormenting but you can see my issue I hope.

Not much of a review more of an eye opener to anyone wishing to get one.
