- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2019Style: Bug AerosolVerified PurchaseI am using this for treatment of bedbugs. It is the best stuff available, and it is cheaper here than at DIY places. I have done a lot of research on this. Dealing with bedbugs is ghastly, don't feel bad, it is not from "being dirty". This note will only be of interest to those others who are searching for how to kill bedbugs, since it is so horrible to have bugs, i will share what i have learned. There is a bit of learning curve on that battle, but i spray my entire bedframe with this bedlam, every nook and cranny that i can find. I tape shut any opening, like unused screws holes, etc.
The DIY bug guys told me it is not how mUch you spray ----------it is how OFTEN and they recommend spraying at least weekly, to get any missed bugs or newly hatched eggs, etc. Every week.
I LIke that BEDLAM has two types of 'heads' to spray either a concentrated point, or wide spray. The smell is not bad.
and then, in addition, i also douse my entire bedsheets every night with this diamatacous earth powder, coating my entire sheet with that powder, and so i like that DE dust is not poisonous for me to lie directly upon, because Bedlam is too strong to lie directly upon.
And i also liberally dust the edges of carpets and entire carpet with DE powder. YOu spray BEdlam first, and next night you douse the powders. The DE powder is only good if it is dry.
Currently, every item in my home is white with DE dust at this time, ------until i am 100% sure i have solved bedbug problem.
I create 2 inch tall ridges of DE powder by every door, ---------to help reduce the chance of bedbugs moving from room to room. Bedbugs will NOT crawl over a pile of this DE powder, and i leave them no room to go around it. Makes it easier to control their moves. and i spray BEdlam all over all door frames, all points of entry. under baseboard edges,
around all appliances,
I spray Bedlam into every crevice, every outlet, every light-switch plate, Every where.
While the bedlam does not stink really, I just wore gloves to spray bedlam, but do WEAR A GOOD MASK to place the DE powder down. I fill up my entire bed with DE dust a few hours prior to sleeping in bed, so that the dust can settle to reduce my risk of inhaling this dust. This dust does take a while to settle back down, so leave that room until the dust settles down. I bought a duster to puff this stuff all over my room. To refill the duster, it is easier to dip the duster into the large 5 lb bag, than it is to try to pour this powder INTO the duster. I also use mitten clips to hold my bedspread from touching floor, just in case. I spray entire bedframe and mattress with BEDLAM and used double sticky tape on entire bedframe,
as well as slippery tape around wherever my bedframe touches the floor. These bugs can not climb up anything too slippery. IT is a lot of work to fight these bugs.
I wash all my bedding daily, and just toss bedspread and pillow into hot dryer x 30 minutes every day. I keep all clothing in clear recycle bags, so i can see what clothes are in which bags. It is a lot of work to fight these bugs.
I also very carefully pat the DE dust onto my face prior to going to sleep,(i bought a powder puff for that reason, but this must be done so carefully so you don't inhale powder)
and i put Diatomaceious earth DE powder on my whole body., to repel the bugs and if they DO come on me they will die from that powder getting on to them. This diatomaceous earth powder is very drying to my skin, but, it is worth it to me at this stage of the battle. I will win! DE powder is messy, but Bedlam is not messy, leaves no stain or marks.
I spray Bedlam onto my slippers, shoes, Everything i own. My purse. My car. EVery where. On backs of picture frames. It does not smell much nor stain. I have sprayed this on leather, painted walls, carpet, no stains on anything.
SEems to be working to control bugs, as one part of a multi-pronged approach, i am using Bedlam spray, and Cyonara insecticide, DE dust, mattress bags, heated my car up outside x 8 hours every day, and i plan to also heat my bedroom with heaters x 8 hours per day x 5 days. I will win. I can not reach the recommended hot temp of 120 to kill the bedbugs in an hour by using normal space heaters, But
if you just heat the room for many many hours? Like 8 hours, every day for a week, you can kill them, even at lower heat. I place the heaters on upside down metal cake pans, to hold heater up off of carpetting,
and to prevent the hot pan from scorching my carpet? ----i place the cake pans on top of silicone cookie sheets, and i have a fire extinguisher at the ready, as well. i will win.
But Bedlam is best poison for bedbugs and this is best price around.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2023Style: Bug AerosolVerified PurchaseIn May my son and I both got opportunities to travel, him with his dad's side of the family on 2 occasions that month (so 3 hotels) and me for work that month (1 hotel) and we finished all that at end of May/first of June. Middle of June I wake up with welts that itch like crazy, seriously like 14 on my shoulder and a few on my side. I freaked! Of course, the mind goes to bedbugs after we had stayed in 4 hotels total. I washed all our bedding and searched the bedrooms and couldn't find any signs. Checked online what the best bedbug spray was and Bedlam Plus was listed as one of the top quality ones so I got it and Harris DE powder and went nuts on my house along with mattress and box spring encasements, pillow encasements and going through drawers and closets throwing tons of stuff away so there would be less places to hide. Still didn't find anything in the home EXCEPT 1 morning at work, I had just gotten to my desk, felt something on my arm and there was a small one crawling! I was able to kill it and looked it up online to confirm, it was one that hadn't fed. That was the only sign/bug I had found during my whole ordeal besides the bites. I kept getting new bites but they didn't look like welts they looked like small red bumps that itch.
I sprayed the Bedlam Plus twice (3 days apart) throughout the house bc that's all 1 can lasted. I like that it expanded in cracks, smell wasn't too awful strong and I for sure haven't seen anymore carpenter ants or boxelder bugs that we're used to seeing so I know it works on them.
Fast forward a few more days, I've continued washing bedding and clothes every other day which is draining but kept searching why I'm getting bit and can't find anything and found online that carpet beetles are a thing- and can cause allergic reaction so I start checking for them. I checked different fabrics throughout the house and omg I found 2 nests of them, they were eating away at backside of curtains in my bedroom next to my bed and in the living room. Idk why the Bedlam didnt kill them too unless I didnt soak the curtains good enough. I threw out all the curtains and vacuumed and washed anything that was in the same room that could be washed.
Haven't seen anymore carpet beetle larvae but was still itching at night, I felt like something was crawling on me mainly when I got into bed and kept getting red itchy bumps- far apart from each other but in same areas. I finally noticed what's called "tunnelling" on my hand, which is a tell-tale sign of scabies :( I must've contracted it at the hotel or at the conference I went to, internet says it can take 4-6 weeks to show symptoms and all I had to do was go to doctor and get a cream and wash my bedding AGAIN.
I know this is a long one but I was scared to death I had bed bugs, I lost sleep, I was embarrassed someone at work would see my "bites" or find out, I spent $300+ trying to clear out my house of them when I didnt have them. I ended up having 2 other problems that were unrelated to bedbugs unless I had 3 problems bc I did find the 1 on my arm.
I still spray every week just in case but I use the Ortho bed bug spray now bc it's cheaper and I haven't seen any. If you do see a bed bug and want more spray at a time than this Bedlam Plus, Harris Black label bed bug spray has SUPER good reviews. That was going to be my next buy if I hadnt found out what I did.
