Explorations in Basic Biology 12th Edition, Kindle Edition
Explorations in Basic Biology is a self-contained laboratory manual designed for one- or two-semester introductory biology courses for non-biology and mixed biology majors. The exercises are appropriate for three-hour laboratory sessions, but are also adaptable to a two-hour laboratory format.
Ideal for students with little hands-on science laboratory experience, this student-friendly text provides clear background information and directions for conducting laboratory activities. Students not only learn basic biological information but also gain experience practicing laboratory techniques.
The Twelfth Edition has been updated with new content, including several new or modified figures and procedures that have been clarified wherever necessary to facilitate student learning, a new Appendix, and guidelines for writing a scientific paper. Several exercises also feature significant improvements.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2014as far as I'm concerned everything was great. I just ordered it paid for it and send it to my daughter but all that being said it was the wrong book so it's been returned in exchange for another one.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2015I received this book as a rental and all the lab reports were torn out. The book is of no use to me without the lab reports. I had planned on making copies of the lab reports to submit to my instructor since the book was rented and I couldn't tear them out to hand them in. Well, being they aren't there at all, I can't even do that! I am very disappointed!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2015Perfect! Had allll the labs and included online course no extra charge! So excited esp when no one else on class could find either!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2020Love it
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2018Bought book for a class. No tears or marks. Book could work for any biology class 101. Just the assignments would not match up.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2016Came fast and is exactly what I needed for class.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2014I purchased this book because the description said that it had no missing pages. However, within the past week or so (when my class got to a certain chapter), I realized that the lab pages were ripped out. It has happened twice so far. I am just lucky that my Professor is okay with making me a copy here and there! The condition of the book, however, is great, aside from the missing pages.
