Product description

This starts out as a standard Periodic Table of the Elements, but becomes much more. With a tap of a button the entire chart becomes color-coded to clearly demonstrate how various chemical properties are distributed across all the elements.

Not just the family and metal or non-metal, but state (gas, liquid or solid), electronegativity, radioactivity and more. In addition a slider allows you to see the states and a temperature you select, and even choose a year to see what elements had been discovered at that point in time.

A simplified electron shell diagram helps students see how the electron configuration affects what family an element belongs to.

A 'details' screen includes information a chemistry student needs, along with a brief explanation of the name, symbol, and family - typically the items young students are most curious about.

The excellent features are the easy to read and understand information about the table of elements that will is great for science student and casual browser. There are plenty of pages of data to pique the interest of a casual browser and provide necessary data for the science student.
The information ranges from the basic overview to the drill-down detail of each element. Elements are shown by atomic group, which I like, and there are buttons which state each atomic group.

Came in very handy for me. It helped me remember the atomic makeup of our natural elements in our periodic table and that what I remembered back when I took Chemistry in high school in 1968-69 the table natural atomic number was 88 elements and it still is 88. I was also happy to learn gases, liquids, solids, temperature changes to different states of being for the elements. I had expected that by now there would have been new natural atomic element discoveries. I understand that there are many man created heavier elements. This Periodic Table does not include these added heavier elements.

This was a free download, but I really didn't like it. Perhaps it would have been better on a tablet, but I was trying to use it on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and it was terrible; the information was all jammed together and it was generally useless. I deleted it after a few days.

Liked the concept, but when I downloaded I received a warning that the app was designed for an older version of Android operating system and that it might not work properly. The warning was correct. I am removing the app as soon as I finish this review.

I downloaded this for myself since I love the Periodic Table of Elements. Informational and slightly interactive. I wish it had more interaction where as a teaching method. Example: where it allowed one to create a compound and so forth but overall, I would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mein Sohn ist begeistert 1

As a mature student returning to study science, this has been very useful, but as a father and lower-school teacher it has also been a great tool for helping to teach. Well presented and easy to use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 28, 2013
I downloaded this app onto my tab with the ambition to commit it to memory, which I may one day achieve. I had read the reviews of other users and concur with their criticisms, particularly of the temperature gauge which should show at what temperatures elements change form (solid, liquid, gas) which shows clearly wrong information unless fiddled with. Not much use if you do not happen to know the correct answer.

As this app is free I would say that it is just about worth the money.
