First of all, this little app is so easy and clear and swell to use. I save it till I reach a time in my day in which to read a book, for example, takes devoted concentration. But, for example, when I'm waiting for my wife's train to arrive from stinking LA, I turn this thing on.

And I just can't leave it alone. Just like the cards, twenty years ago, once I deal 'em out and start. I enjoy it, and it's so easy and, let's admit it, fun to use.

After you've played for awhile, say a day or two, or better, say 4 hours or more, you start to realized that EVERY GAME IS A CONCOCTION, planned up by some hetero-nerd expert. Cards are always carefully planned in every deal. Most, kind of like in reality, are losers; but the way the concocters do it, it becomes so glaringly apparent to you--the way the cards fall, meant to break your heart. But if you can deal with that manipulation, it's still like reality, since you lose most games anyway, right? (Still made me throw the $#%# Kindle across the room one night. But that's a different problem....) (Just kidding!)

While enjoying status as a competitive jacks player as a youngster, my Dad taught me the card game Solitaire. Bump a few decades forward into the age of apps and Xbox. I claimed this particular version of the game for my Kindle Fire HD. It met my nostalgic requirements while affording me simple ways to personalize my style of play. It is entertaining and easy to use. I like playing it and do so frequently. This version is uncomplicated and straightforward with simple graphics you can change. There are more bells and whistle Solitaire games available, but this one stays true to its roots. Dad would find it a nice complement to his cards.

I wasn't able to download app to my devices(2) even though they were (green) "checked"(Android) as compatible. Don't like the idea of paying for something and can not used even though it was just $3 bucks and few cents.

All on all a good, solid Solitaire game with several game modes, statistics, and even achievements.

However, it seems like the shuffle algorithm is broken. As you continue playing many games in a row, you often find you get on a losing streak.. and when you do, you'll notice things like deals with ALL black cards showing, lots of cards with similar values piled on top of each other (all low cards being near each other last in the stacks, or near-sequential runs of cards) like the random number generator just gave up. After a handful of games with similar patterns, things start going back to normal, looking random, and you go on a winning streak... until the cycle repeats itself self.

I was bored last night and playing around with my Kindle Fire HD when I suddenly remembered Solitaire. After a quick look about, I decided not to download the free version but instead this one for .99 - a bargain, a steal! Downloaded it in seconds and was playing in no time. The graphics on the Kindle Fire HD are beautiful so the game graphics worked quite well. Fast, fun, and I've yet to win a game -dang! I kept going "COME ON! SERIOUSLY!" But I was secretly glad, because once I win, it takes the fun out of that session until I put it away and try again.

The free game reviews said there were ads all over the place, which I did not want, so for a mere 99cents I received the game I want, one that works great, and no ads.

I'd recommend this game if you like a simple game of Solitaire without any "bells and whistles."

1.0 out of 5 stars not a good game
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 27, 2024
l've had quite a few solitaire games on my computer/tablets, and this is the worst I have ever played... first of all it doesn't let you, click or press on the cards to move them to the correct spot. No you have to drag them there... then it doesn't let you win a game...… just sits there sneering at you, as if to say, 'oh you really wanted to win this one... well ha ha, you're not gonna!' And that was the first game as well. So I deleted it! And as for value for money, well if it wasn't free, I'd give it no stars. In fact I'd give the whole bloody game no stars. If I could!
