- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2011I got my copy early today (thanks UPS!) so I thought I would share.
I've only done level one of the workout and WHEW, do I feel accomplished. Jillian begins the video by stating that she encourages you to do both levels of the workout back to back. She got the side eye from me because that simply wasn't happening, at least the first time around. I'm quite sure I could work up to it, because this workout is FUN (please note that I generally hate cardio). I hurled a of couple four letter words at her through out the workout, but never wanted to stop. Some of the movements are a bit ODD, but I'm not a boxer and I've never done jiu jitsu so it makes sense. In Jillian fashion, you complete each circuit twice. Level one ends around 35 mins. At this point Jillian asks if you want to move on to the next level. If not, you can finish with a 5 minute warm up. I previewed level two and there are a ton of new moves. Level two is about 45 mins if you skip the warm up (same one from level 1). Jillian adds modifications throughout (So glad to see Basheera back--love her) for higher and lower levels of difficulty. If you aren't in shape I would imagine that you wouldn't enjoy this workout at first. If you're a Jillian fan who follows the previous videos, you will love it.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2011I am a HUGE fan of Jillian Michaels. I love her style of workouts and I own ALL of her DVDs, unless there are some out there that I don't know about yet! I ordered this DVD as soon as it was available for pre-order on Amazon and waited on pins & needles for it to arrive!
As soon as it arrived in the mail, I sat down & watched the whole DVD - Level 1, Level 2, and then the Level 1&2 together option. Wow! I couldn't wait to try it! I did Level 1 on Tues (day before yesterday) and, like a lot of others, I found that it was not as hard as I had expected. Jillian says in the beginning, 'We're gonna have fun with this workout' and she was right! It was VERY different - lots of new moves, a few old moves revamped, and a mix of moves from yoga & various martial arts. It was challenging, but not so much so that it was overwhelming. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I did Level 2 this morning and...wow...! It wasn't quite as cardio-intensive as some of her other workouts (something that some folks have complained about here in the reviews section) but there are definitely cardio intervals and the strength moves are HARD...VERY challenging! I even found a couple of the static poses to be pretty tough. I usually find myself doing intermediate versions of her exercises; sometimes I can even do the advanced versions. In THIS workout, I was doing mostly the beginner versions. No problem though - it gives me plenty to work toward!
Now that I've done both levels, I'm thinking that Level 1 is probably signicantly easier than Level 2 because she wants us to do them back-to-back. If Level 1 was off-the-charts hard, not many people would do that.
For both workouts, I have to say that, even though they are quite a bit longer that her other recent workouts, the time went FAST!
If I was able to change just one thing about this DVD, I'd like to see different warm-ups & cool downs for Level 1 & Level 2, and a third different (extended) warm-up & cool down for the bad asses who do the Level 1 & 2 together option!
(On a Side note: I was surprised to find that the side plank crunches (in Level 1) were not as hard as I thought they'd be...probably because of those side plank knee raises from 6 week 6 pack, which were really hard for me at first but are getting progressively easier the more I do that workout! Thanks, Jillian!)
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this workout & it will definitely be a regular in my workout schedule...along w/30-Day Shred, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, No More Trouble Zones, Shred it w/Weights, Yoga Meltdown, 6 week 6 pack, Ripped in 30, Killer Buns & Thighs, and the Biggest Winner 5-DVD set: Shape of Up Front, Shape Up Back, Full Frontal, Back in Action, and Cardio Kickbox!

I always like Jillian's workouts and own several of her DVDs that I use regularly for the past couple years. I thought I was in good shape until I did this workout. I felt it after! The first workout wasn't too bad. I could get through it with almost no modifications, but was pretty sore after. After a week of level 1 I decided to try level 1&2 together. I would not recommend this for a beginner! I had to do most of level 2 with modifications and really struggled to finish it. Every muscle in my body hurts and I am sure if I sit down, then I will never get up again. This is by far the most difficult of her DVDs that I own but I am happy with the purchase.

If you are already a fan of Jillian Michaels then you will love love love this DVD. I think the title "Extreme" might be slightly misleading as anyoone who is at the tope of their fitness and can do a couple of Jillian's workouts back to back then areobically you will not find this more challenging than any other of her DVD's BUT saying that I just loved this DVD, and I had the most fun I have ever had during a Jillian workout, usually you dont have the time to breathe or think about whether its fun or not, its just GO GO GO !! The description of 2 x 45 minute workouts is rubbish, it's 2 x 1/2 hour workouts but they are meant to be done together for a longer workout but if you are beginner I would only start with level 1 !! You need to work up to Jillian's workouts ! So aerobically this might not appear more challenging than her other workouts but strength wise, this is awesome and after doing this workout both levels back to back for the first time the next day my butt and core hurt, so I know it works, and thats after spending a year doing Jillian's other workouts including six week six pack (ignore that title too :-) for over a year now !!
I couldnt recommend this highly enough for those days when you dont want to go so insane with your workout but you want a longer and more FUN workout.
I love this DVD and I adore Jillian Michael's, she has transformed my body and my mind :-)

ジリアンのDVDで買うのはこれが3つ目です。3回ぐらいやりました。レベル1(40分位)、レベル2(50分位)、レベル1+2(約80分)の中から選べます。ジリアン・マイケルズの脂肪撃退プログラム [DVD]はジャンプも多いし有酸素系の運動が殆どなので息が上がるのに対し、こちらはヨガや太極拳の動きもあり、片足でずっと立ち続けたり、一つのポーズを30秒ぐらい続けたりするので、丁寧にすると体幹鍛えられる感じです。(あまり疲れないのは、まだ一つ一つの動きをきちんとマスターできていないからかもしれませんが。)前述したDVDやジリアン・マイケルズのダンベル・ダイエット [DVD]ができている人なら、このDVDのレベル1はちょっと物足りないかもしれませんが、こっちの方が振動の心配も少ないし、一つ一つの動きをしっかりできるようになれば、本当に「強い・芯のある」体が作れそうです。走り回る動きがあるので、マットも広げておかないといけないし、他のDVDよりちょっと広めのスペースが必要です。

OK, I can't say I love this DVD because there are moves that just "suck," to quote Jillian herself. But they're effective, as she also points out, and this is true. I rarely do any workout these days that makes me feel so much burn that I know it must be working - this is one of them. But let me be specific - it is Level 2 of this DVD that I'm referring to. Level 1 is actually not challenging enough for me - I can't even justify the extra half-hour when combined with Level 2. Level 1 also incorporates a fusion of exercises (yoga, kick-boxing and capoeira and I'm a more straight-forward strength-training kind of gal). So I stick to Level 2. The downside is that I'm only using 50% of this DVD. The upside is that the 50% I'm using really works. I'm very fit, but my weight fluctuates, depending on the season and how busy/not busy I am. I am fit for two reasons: 1. I am trained as a dancer so my muscle memory is good and my muscles are used to a good grind, though I haven't danced in almost 20 years. 2. I do Jillian Michaels' DVDs exclusively. As far as I'm concerned, there is no one or no gym that will give you these results. I recommend Level 2 of this workout to fit people, I recommend both workouts to those who want to work their way toward advanced fitness, but maybe need to take it more slowly. Thanks, Jillian.
