All parts were present. The hardware came in a clever plastic package that had all parts pre-sorted and accessible via perforations in each section. The instructions were clear, follow them exactly and you will have no trouble. It arrived days ahead of schedule. The VERY HEAVY box was slightly damaged on a corner, and so was the corner of one piece of the headboard. But it was small enough not to bother me, I used a Sharpie to touch it up. Step 7 bears repeating, at least the part of the step detailed in the upper-right corner! I followed directions, even if it was mid-morning!

    I knew I had to assemble this product, (just an FYI, I'm female) the instructions were spot on, but I did make a mistake on the only piece that couldn't be undone (go figure) so I called the manufacture and they sent me the right piece to replace the one i did wrong right away and at no charge!! Customer service was great, once I got the replacement side i finished it in less then an hour.. total time to build was appx 2-3 hrs.. and OMG I love it! it is sturdy,looks amazing and I love the shelving and drawer storage!! I get a ton of compliments on it (and ladies.. when you tell a male friend you built it yourself.. that is a big plus!) I would recommend this product to all my friends!

    Exactly as pictured. Very nice for "Do it Yourself" furniture. Very easy to assemble IF you read the directions carefully and LOOK at the pictures! It didn't take too long to put together, it helps if there are two people as it is big. It arrived in perfect condition, even though the box weighs quite a bit. Break down the shipping box before moving the pieces up or downstairs. Do get yourself the roll 3M Scotch Heavy Duty Mounting Tape, it is easier to use than the provided adhesive strips. Seems to be quite sturdy. I am very pleased with the item, seller, and how quickly and safely it arrived (I bet the UPS driver isn't so happy...)

    Sauder does a good job with these products, they're always a welcomed challenge to assemble when things are slow & the weather's bad. For me renting a smaller mobile home it's near perfect, looks decent, it's functional and it doesn't break your wallet or your back. The instructions are easy if you're used to looking at blue prints, they're clear but you really have to be in tune with them as to avoid mistakes. This headboard was assembled on the very bed it was purchased for. It has minimal storage but a lot more than I had, not counting the floor and the 2 drawers, I think they could have done much better. However they do work & I use them and I also use the book shelves for Storing remote controls and such. I plan to purchase more of their furniture products due to the fact that you can build them in the room they're going in, they look decent, they're affordable and if & when I move I'll make a deal w/ my landlord and won't break my back. So I'm Happy, My Landlord Now has a Partially Furnished Rental, he can charge the next renter a bit more so he's happy and the new tenant's happy that it's partially furnished & can get settled quicker with less stress. I have 3 pieces of the Shoal Creek Oiled Oak and another, larger piece in my wish list. It will take 2 to people to install the headboard without too much effort.

    Solid construction.
    Although, I bought other not so great stuff out of the same product line, this one I like very much.
    There is enough storage in this headboard, with a drawer on each side.
    Once assembled, it feels solid.
    It can be attached to a metal bed frame, although I use it on a wooden frame without any attachment to each other.
    All over it is nice to look at and holds between my bed frame and wall securely.
    It is made, mostly of particleboard and some MDF board.

    I never had any headboard and this one is working out so great I don't know how I managed without it. It was a bit tricky to assemble, took me about 90 minutes and the order of doing things doesn't seem optimal to me, if you're experienced you should just look at the pieces and put them together in a more "IKEA-like" order. But having the little drawers to keep remotes, glasses, etc. handy but out of site, and a shelf to put the cup of coffee or stash the book as I drift off, is awesome. It functions much better than a nightstand (though I got the matching one which looks great).Two pillows in shams hide any clutter and turn the bed into "decor." Note: I put decorative boxes from IKEA in the middle big shelf. Without them, leaning back on the pillows wasn't comfy. But that also gives me more "out of sight" storage.

    On the plus side, this bed looks nice. As you might expect, it's particle board. It's similar to IKEA furniture in construction and assembly (heavy use of cam dowels etc), but they actually use a sturdier version of all the standard particle board assembly components (metal pins instead of wooden dowels is one example) than you'll usually encounter.

    On the bad side: minus one star for having three visible blemishes, which happened during shipping. There's not enough packing styrofoam around every side. This is pretty much expected when shipping this kind of furniture, and it wasn't bad enough to send back or anything. But it's still a star off, and you should keep in mind there's a probability this will happen.

    Minus another star for including the most useless double-sided tape ever. The second side is basically inaccessible due to the near-impossibility of removing the covering strip. I managed to get one piece uncovered, but after spending a good 15 minutes trying to get even one more off, I gave up and drove to the store to buy Scotch double-sided mounting tape, which is the right size and thickness, and isn't impossible to use. Save yourself the trouble; order some when you order the bed.

    Good product so long as you know what you're shopping for. One tip: After reading the reviews that bemoan the cardboard drawer bottoms, I cut my own wood drawer bottoms out of two old dresser drawers I bought at the Habitat for Humanity resale store. Don't glue them to the bottom frame, it will make the drawer hard to open and close. Glue them to the INSIDE bottom and reinforce with little metal or wood braces if you must. If you use good glue you won't have to, so long as you aren't putting big heavy paperweights etc. in the drawers. Otherwise, it's a solid piece of work for the money.

    Other than the beautiful design it is sturdy and sits firmly on the ground. Unlike other headboards that needs to be supported by a wall this one dits weon its own . Also, its was worth what I paid for it.

    I like it so much I was hoping to buy another for another room but its out of stock.
